Anodising Or Coating Valve Covers

Been thinking about what to do with my valve covers on the R32 they don't look as bad as some examples but i still want to freshen them up a little. Was thinking of going crackle black but came across this

Where about in Sydney can i get this done as i have heard terrible things about dipped-parts.com.

Or does anyone else have any ideas about what to do with the valve covers ?

I don't know if Chris does anodizing, but I can't speak highly enough of the quality of work he does in powder coating. I've had him do a few bits and pieces for me now, and I have more to send to him.

Anodizing works out far more expensive.

The anodizied finish will only be as good as the polished surface underneath. To get a pair of covers, valley and timing case for an rb26 polished up perfectly costs a small fortune.

I had a customer not long ago get a set done only to have a second set powdercoated for his 2nd car.

thats heated to blueing, yellowing.

it needs more of a heat treatment?

yes, but anodised plated, or chrome plated the heated?

ive never seen anodising that has blended one colour to another.

Could be electro plated in silver then anodized.

Where is the updated progress on your car Dave?

I just fabbed up an airbox on the weekend with the help of a mate and it looks smick (When i say fabbed i mean butchered a JJ one to make it fit)... Car is nearly good to go!

Yeah been pretty slack, cars all finished and was using its a daily for a while.

I think my fuel pump can't keep up any more so need to upgrade.

I'm trying to get to sutton texi, u commin??

What fuel pump are you running? I am yet to install my 044 as i have been slack!!

Could be? Just run another 255L in the tank with it... I have one in the shed that came out of my car that you can have cheap

Probably best get on top of that ASAP so you dont damage anything...
