Nice! Let me know what the queue is like haha. I think I'm just gonna head up Friday morning. Ethanol disappears too fast to make the trip twice :P

How's the car been running Martin following your E85 tune? I know you still had some underlying issues - did you ever get any closer to working out what was causing the problem or do you think it's the turbo? I've got my E85 re-tune this Friday, all going well :)

Going awesome man, it's never run so well! Good tune helps that haha. Just gonna change my fuel filter tomorrow before Powercruise, see how dirty it is.

Haven't figured anything else out though, I'm 90% sure it's the turbo. I've just tried everything else :/good luck with your tune, who is doing it?

There will be videos! Whether my car does any munching will have to be seen haha.

Bumped the ethanol content up to 65% yesterday, tuner can't fit me in on the dyno but has offered to do a road tune to wind the boost up a bit. So should be making over 400rwhp for the event.

Hope to see many a video from Powercruise of this thing munching V8's down the straight!

Second this!

Will be interesting to see the state of the fuel filter, did you clean your fuel tank out before installing all the new gear?

Bugger about the turbo mate. ASG is doing my tune but it's at another shop at the moment getting the cams dialled in - just hoping everything comes together and I don't get shunted to next week due to Powercuise!

Nah didn't clean the tank. Just stocked up on fuel filters and plan to change them regularly for awhile. Only thing is, I haven't been running full E85. So I don't know how much cleaning the E53 would have been doing, but I'll change it anyway.

Ooo that sucks. Mine isn't quite so serious. Its just a slight misfire at high revs in 3rd gear and over. Can feel the car lose power when it happens though, it's killing me in the races :( still having a blast though!

This idiot forgot the SD card for hihis GoPro today, so not much footage today :( luckily my mate has one and I lent him my external mic, so I have got some runs. Will remember mine tomorrow.

I was reading SC48's building thread and it appears his 3076 in .82 rear with a aftermarket exhaust manifold was pulling 340rwhp @21psi. that is similar to your G3 P98 result on factory manifold. Usually by adding E85 we pickup a maximum of 40kws, a 100HP increase seems abit odd.

I have few of the current G3's comp housing and wells made. If interested I can have your updated to the latest specifications free of charge. Dyno vs in terms of power and response between the old and new is:

I was surprised about gaining 100hp too. Bit both this car and mine have gained similar with fuel change

Thanks Stao, I'll consider it but for the moment I'm pretty happy and just want to drive the car for a bit. The amount of money I have spent on dyno time, I'm sure I could have a house by now lol.

With regards to how much power it picked up, I think that will depend on how knock limited the engine is on 98. Mine was pretty bad, it didn't take much timing at all before knocking. That made quite a big difference because my car loves timing so much, it's got a heap more timing in it now and so makes much better power. The interesting thing is that it doesn't like boost. If I could figure out why it loses power when it starts getting some proper boost into it - ie. >20psi - then I actually think it would make even more power then it is now. I see no reason why if I could get it to take ~23psi and the amount of timing it currently has, without the current misfiring, and actually like it, the power figure would be closer to 430-440rwhp on full E85 (known restrictions like the standard manifold etc. aside).

The other interesting thing is that it takes SO much extra fuel as well. My tuner needed to add 40% more ethanol just on E53, we aren't even up to E85 yet. So that could be an indication of something there, or my car just loves alcohol more than Charlie Sheen  either way, the car isn't a finished article yet.

I mean assume if the E85 fuel that we get is similar then it only means that the 98 fuel's result is low.

It remains me when I introduced Trent to China for tuning Kia sportage's ecu maps, while the map written using Australian 95 fuel knocked badly using Chinese 95 fuel. There is a difference of 2 psi in maximum boost level and 2 degrees down in timing.

Wondering if the mixture of the fuel varies between states to states.

I'm interested to see how a ATR43G4 or a SS4 would preform in your car there if you are interested for more power, we can do a swap it over when you are ready, just to see what sort of power level your engine might be maxing out of with a GT35 equivalent turbocharger.
