Fitting Tension Rods...need Help Please :)

just got my new hardrace tension rods in the mail and im in the process of fitting them but unsure if the 2 nuts on either side of that silver section should be tight or wound out like I have in the picture. should it be the same length that I had my old tein's. So which is right? the one on the bottom of the picture or the one next to the tein tension rod? thanks

The one in the centre is correct; you need to lock the nuts against the ends of the arm; if you lock the nuts against the turnbuckle, the turnbuckle will still turn.

the side that has the spring washers should be enough of a clue which way they should lock in

What spring washers? The darkness you mistake for spring washers is simply shadow.

And, yes, lock the locknuts out against the blue components.

Depends if the stud screws into the turnbuckle or the ends in the teins they screw into the turnbuckle so you the nuts go against it but if they screw into the ends then do it as in the middle pic.

they were worn and knocking like a bitch plus they're not adr approved so I found out. thanks for the help guys. fitted them this arvo and will be getting a wheel alignment tomorrow. and yes they do actually have a washer in between them lol

how are they going for you? were you still running the factory tension rods before you put the hardrace one's in?

i replaced the stock rods with some JJR pillowball ones, one of which died after about a month

so i got some hardrace ones to replace them, couldnt be happier

When you say died, what exactly do you mean?

I just installed a set from Just Jap (SRI) and they are creaking like no tomorrow... any ideas?

One of the joints was completely worn and had a heap of movement, but I suspect it was due to other issues with tyes and stuff as well

But they are very hectic for road use
