My quick net searching from other users experiences has not been good, some same they are great, but others that actually have proven and accurate ways to ascertain if the gauges are actually accurate have deemed them pathetic...

they are cheap, you get what you pay for, but they do have good customer service from what it seems and are prepared to give refunds if problems are found.

I personally dont like this, they are basically saying we sell good gear to those that dont know otherwise, but if you find are gauges are just cheap crap then we will give you a refund so we dont get majorly stung.

these seem like the gauges you have when you cant afford gauges.

ok to throw in your hyundai or lancer to look colourful and cool but if you actually need to use them for feedback info on whats going on wtih your engine then I wouldnt trust them...

I bought some Racetech stepper motor driven gauges of an Ebay Seller. They look ok and were only about $60 a gauge + postage. I was hamstrung though by the previous owner having cut holes in the dash on the passenger side with these gauges in them, but a few were broken so I got a new set, came with everything, sensors, wiring, mounting cup and visors. Not bad.

what guages are you after?

i'm selling a pair of blitz 60mm BLM carbon faced gauges in oil temp & oil pressure complete with sensors and wiring.

sexy ass gauges that light blue and looks bloody awesome.

if you're interested, send me a PM.

in syd as well so you can inspect and pick up.

Problem with ebay gauges as i see it...

One set might be fine. Another set might be out of whack - measurement wise.

So as long as you check them after installation (like boost, use a known working one from workshop) etc. Then OK to use. But just remember if they come up as not working so well, you might have done your cash.

I have 3 in my car that I put in for a bit of a lark. A semit serious lark, because I chose an exhaust temp, boost and oil temp.

First up, any black smoked lens is a shit idea. I might pull mine apart and see if I can't just put some clear glass in there. At night they're OK. In the daylight, with enough sunlight spilling into the car, they're quite hard to see. Especially if they're dusty.

Second up. They run really hot, and I suspect they draw a shitload of current even when the car is off.

Thirdly. My set seem to work quite well. The boost guage is certainly accurate. The exhaust temp gauge seems to read exactly where you'd expect the temp to be (I tapped a hole into the turbo's inlet for the thermocouple, so I'm reading manifold gas temp). The oil temp gauge also runs pretty much where you'd expect it to in the car, and I tested it in hot water with another thermometer before installing and it was accurate to within a degree.

Cheap, but cheerful. Not serious. BUt having peak recall and alarm functions makes them at least a little bit useful.

If you want a gauge that is affordable and accurate then go shadow. Their design is a knock off of defi.

I have a shadow pro black face gauge (opposite to above, visibility is great any time of day)

Accuracy is the the same as my boost controller.

I'm happy with mine. Even has peak recall, set boost spike alarm, dim the brightness, it should just give me a gobbie and then I've got everything haha

I use the Pro Sport exhaust temp gauge, its worked perfectly for 2 years since I bought it from another SAU member.

They have an annoying beep on startup that you can get rid of, other than that, go for it. Good value for money.

A lot of pointless woffle in this thread

I got a prosport boost gauge.

Works fine in day and night.

Annoying thing is the beep on the intro start. You can turn it off but then you also lose the warning beep.

Also if you have multiple gauges the intro sync will be off but that will be the same for any gauge with no central controller (unlike defi)

Bit of a thread revival

Any more info/experiences on the pro sport gauges?

I'm looking to buy a couple of temp and pressure gauges, if not prosport what other brands besides the ones mentioned above..

It may well turn out I buy some good jap ones but would like to know what other options are out there ATM

Yes I think I've seen them mate, are you talking about the replica ones?

I've pretty much decided to getthe Defi Din triple cluster like you have mentioned

Neat, reliable and will bolt straight In to factory dash

Inc 1 pressure and 2 temp gauges, so fuel pressure and water/oil temp is what I'll go with as the factory water temp gauge is shit (killed my first engine) and low fuel pressure ( killed my last engine)

I was going to go oil pressure as well but the factory gauge is reading close enough for my liking

Reliabilty was main main concern and I don't think you can go past the Defi's

These ones, If i went single like that id make sure they are 52mm so i can fit then into my own DIN cluster.

I always thought water temp was a bit of a gimic, Like the Exhaust temp guages? pretty sure the PFC and others read water temp.

Oil temp would be good, but the only reason i havent grabed a Unit yet is i cant decide what i want, When i get the car back im hoping the Profec B 2 Reads boost well enought to not need a stand alone boost guage.

How much is fuel pressure affected for street driving?

Well water and oil temp sorta move together so if your oil is hot youcan bet your water is..

I more or less want an accurate water gauge so I can keep on eye on the efficiency of my cooling pro radiator

In terms of fuel pressure, look at it this way...

If I know I had low fuel pressure die to the fuel pump only receiving 9 volts I would t have given it a bit into 2nd gear coming onto a high way and I definatly wouldn't have taken it to the drags at eastern creek
