Roy, UAS track days are for everyone. I have been accused of over favouring GTR's in the past, this was from a few of the zed guys. This was because we had 12 GTR's at the track one time and they get their own sessions along with race cars.

This day will sort out the men from the boys. I would not speak too soon as I have a good customer Gary who has owned a heap of GTR's, and is very experienced at the track. He has also done quite a few Targa's. He was the guy who drove the white N1 set up R33 GTR a few years back that ended up a tree, and him in hospital. The following year he wrote off another R32 GTR, head on into a tree. He is a good driver but has a big go. This year he is not doing Targa and put his effort into beat me at this track day. He has accumulated lots of good bits out of his 3 R32 GTR's and put them into one to make an awesome track car. Featuring Holinger sequential gear box which is good for at least a second a lap. He say more like 2. Big motor with 2540's and forged internals etc and 350kw at all 4. Stripped out with cage, big brakes etc. He is not beer talk. Will be very interesting. His fastest time was 106 .95 with the sequential box in the R33 N1 GTR. His new current race R32 GTR should do better than this. It will need to.

Tosh ( SW20 ) was over today and has has seen what we are doing. Last year the Zed was stadard internals and not too many mods but now it is full on now. We are running S15 turbos in the "Franken Zed "which are same HP rating as N1 spec so still can compare I guess, but yes lots of other things. It is again getting more like a GTR as now has Tomei RB26 solid lifters to add to the GTR bits in it.

I might Add Geoff from SSS Automotive will be out in his Gibson powered R32 GTR and has done more mods including better brakes and gear box, and will be in there. Joe also from SSS Automotive might be there with his well over 400kw at wheels R32 GTR. Power is not everything though.

Will surely be a great day John and a great opportunity to see some awesome machines in full flight.....

I'll be there sometime through the afternoon to come for some laps :P

p.s. As John mentioned I was out there yesterday and DAMN is he going to some major measures to lighten the car!

    • I would not be surprised if you are the only person on earth that has the interest/desire to do that lol.  The Haltech base map is a really good starting point, the car will fire easily and drive very well, even on mild boost levels. To me, following your advice sounds like some sort of ancient Chinese water torcher lol (this is not an insult Josh, never change <3)
    • Those car show concepts from the 2000's and 2010's like the Floria and IDx were brilliant and should've gone ahead, at least one of them. But neither Honda nor Nissan are thinking about affordable performance any more, which is truly sad.  Even if Toyota's liquid hydrogen ICE development reaches the point where it's commercially viable and the infrastructure to support it, Honda/Nissan would have to wait until Toyota allow fee access to their patents to offer it with any smaller performance models they released to take advantage of it.
    • A sporty manual RWD coupe with a IL4 Honda engine would only be a good thing I assume we won't see anything released for a few years though, unless informal talks and designs have been going on for a few years,  and due to the current, and future, emmisions and safety requirements, I assume anything "sporty" they would do would be at least some hybrid thingie And hopefully anything they are thinking of has nice lines, without lots of plastic and fake bits hanging off it like that horrendous FK8 that looked like it was designed by a 13 year old The other issue of course in the current market is cost, currently the type R is around $70k, a twin is around $50k Meh, I'm old and grumpy and would rather buy a older model car and waste my coin on that than buying anything currently available new
