The front GTR shocks are 50 mm shorter in overall length compared to the GTS-T or GTT versions and you have to make up spacers (refer attached picture) to fit on top of the top mount to fit PSS9's.

Hoping for some more progress this week - I'll keep you guys in the loop. I'm like a little kid in the candy store right now, checking out my mailbox for the AusPost 1st notice.

Subscribed :) What's the spring rate? Did you get to choose?

No - PSS9's come with the set springs and valving to match. Stock R33 V-spec is F:5kg/mm and R:4kg/mm - and with PSS9's they are F:7kg/mm and R:6kg/mm with the ride height 40mm lower, and of course then it can be adjusted up and down by another +/-30mm or so..

Hmmm i've got 8.2/6.4 Teins ATM that are still bit too stiff... 7/6 with the great bilstein valving should be very nice. I just need to get someone in sydney with them to let me ride shotgun!

I think people are (mistakenly) assuming the PSS9 valving is as good as the non adjustable Bilstein valving. It isnt.

Damn - is there much difference? How would you rate PSS9 valving compared to others in the <$2K range? It would have to be way better than my Tein NAs right?

Well I wouldnt because I dont reckon that any cheap (ie <$2k) adjustable shocks are actually any good. They all tend to have the same issues - the adjusters dont adjust all of the damper curve, they dont do it in a very repeatable manner, they dont do it in a linear manner, they vary greatly from shock to shock etc etc. If you seach google under images for PSS9 damper curves and the shortcomings of the shocks you will dig aup a bit of chat. The Bilsteins are not alone in having issues.

On the other hand a fixed damper can accomodate a good range of spring rates.

The bottom line is: how many people get the damper curves with the dampers and understand enough to translate that to a better setup? Not many I would wager. Most people end up by screwing in too much damper force anyway and having a pretty horrible setup.

Better off talking to proper suspension people and getting B46's re-valved if needed.

Paid my taxes the other day so the grand total now is in the $1400 range - so they have been released from customs yesterday and I'm awaiting delivery early next week

Will keep you guys updated how it all goes.
