hi all i am new to this fourm site but it looks like a good one to join as some of the advice i am reading is very helpful.

at the moment i am in the middle of an upgrade on my 1998 4door gt skyline.

it was originally a rb20de auto I have twisted my rubber arm to make it go faster

and have put a r32 rb26dett engine in it along with a r34 rb25det manual gearbox and

after market exeddy clutch as it is coming time to put it on the dyno

i am concernerd the diff wont be able to handle it. so am wanting to address the issue before

its to late.

stud housing is 3x2 and is an abs diff

what would the recomendations be with upgrading it?

change to a turbo 5x1 stud setup and have to replace the axles aswell?

any help would be much appricated

i honestly dont think you will have any poroblems with the stock diff, should be an LSD... i think? so you can always shim it up to tighen it up if so but other than that i wouldnt worry i would be more concerned with making sure the engine healthy when getting tuned on the dyno

Diffs are no different, Crown and pinion will be the same strength as gtst gear and if standard centre craps itself well then that's as good a reason as anyto go aftermarket 1.5 or 2 way ;). Because you are swapping from auto though you will have a 4:3 ratio diff instead of the 4:1 of the manual variants.
