I will open a thread for SMS subscription on events notification. I've started sending out SMS to people about events.

So we have:

Forums

Facebook

SMS

email

All of these are currently in use for promoting our events. The fact is taht people are just not entering. I do not think it is an awareness problem.

Afaik NSCc is a timed day and they also run a club championship. Compare apples with apples steveo....

Also going back a few years ago how come these days were sold out? What's changed since then?

When I was vice pres there was talk of an Sau club champ. People these days that are into track days will more likely enter a day with timing or a comp, like a supersprint series. This is more like a speed off the streets day but with passengers. Maybe people got scared off the whole renew vs Sau days from last year?

To me the only benefit of these days is the passenger seats. There are no qualified instructors and no timing, and not a comp. That's my thoughts and you need to look at all options and situations as to why. Ask the members on the day as to why they entered and what can be done to promote these days.

Suttonroad will appeal to more people. That event kicks ass!!!!

Unfortunately I cannot make that due to family commitments.

Wouldn't having a few more entrants cover the timing, and the timing bring in a few more entrants.

All track days I do now are with SSCC or NSCC and they are timed events, I've never found them over packed and they always have a heap of entrants.

If SAU just want untimed passenger days they need to be advertised early and have other things to bring in people like a show n shine, sponsor talks, tech info and such, crack out the instant coffee in the morning and sell cups for $2.00.

This probably isn't the thread for this but I like the SAU days and I want to attend but I need something to get me there.

Yes I'm a needy little bastard.

Grid girls?

For myself, its purely the saturday thing.

Hard to get them off, lose money when i do.....

Shame we dont have oran park anymore :(

Never got to,try the circuit, would have liked to.

And it was nice and close.

Yeah Oran park was awesome, I'm mad I only got to run on it half a dozen times; I'm not sure what's keeping people away from track days, hopefully it was just a weird blip and everyone will be clamouring for spots at the next one.

I much prefer timing myself, did the nscc day on the Sunday and there was a lot more interest in comparing lap times and it wasn't uncommon to see a throng of drivers and onlookers gathered around the flat screens peering intently at their times with the chatter non stop.

I wasn't aware of a club championship happening but I certainly wanted to be inside the top ten but was happy enough with top thirteen as its my lucky number.

Now see you all at sutton!
