These apparently work, and there is an ecu programming card to use with it separately. Not cheap for a trial though although the seller said it will work with no problems.

Its a rip off of the Nissan Consult program from what I can work out...

If it is a Consult rip off and only does what a Consult can do, it can't flash the ECU.

If they haev created an add-on as such, then so be it. Perhaps it might be worth a few VQ25det owners all putting in to get one to trial?

I would have grabbed one but it's over a grand for the unit with the programming Pc card. I would definitely buy the unit though. If anyone is interested in chucking in for the programming card let me know, I don't really need it otherwise.

It is esentially a consult unit, reverse engineered. I have been in communication with a few of the suppliers who all said it will work. The programmer is the part I'm not confident with.

$200 us for the version that'll do nm35s. Plus shipping. Provided you have a Lappy to put the software on.

The diagnostic facility is totally different to the tuning. The couple of screen shots I've used in other threads is from the tuning software which doesn't work with nm35 cars. Have I made it clear enough?

Still haven't had anyone come for diagnostics!ermm.gifmaybe I should put a price on, then people might like it more. Otherwise just keep paying $ at Nissan!

Uprev will log and do the CEL's but not tune for you Ryan... like you really need it :P

Yeah but I figured if it was cheap enough it'd be handy to be able to log and clear CELs just like that!

I still need to clear that stupid airbag light. Maybe this weekend. I'd come to you Alex, but, well, you're a long way away!

Hi All,

When I tuned my car, the software (UPREV Cipher) came with a diagnostics program to run on Nissan CAN BUS cars. So- its good new for you people!

I tried the software out on Jetwrecks car today successfully.

This is a list of what I can CAN DO with this software:

Adjust your ignition timing up to +2 degrees or - 5 degrees (please note- I'm not in any way responsible for what happens to your car if you want me to do this)

Hey Alex, is this what you saw on Craigs car or yours? I plugged into mine today & it gave me options of +8 degrees to -8 degrees.

You can keep increasing it Leon, but there are two figures there target and actual. target can be +8, but it just wont run it, actual is still +2. Depends on ecu too, some have different parameters to others.

But check that out. doubt you get any more than +2

OK, that's probably right & makes sense. I just dropped the box down & saw the available options but didn't change anything. Mine was set for -1.

Thanks.

-1, just like everyone else's.

Car clear of error codes?

Never any codes, other than the SRS that's been my nemesis since day one.

Might be -1 due to the fuel being used (98 instead of 100)?

I mainly use Caltex (only because have a business funded card) so I can't even guarantee it's 98, lol. I occasionally try other brands 98 fuel (BP), but can't really tell the difference driving around. Probably never in the tank long enough to learn it.

    • I once hit my knee on an exhaust on my sisters Suzuki Sierra after she drove it her *normal* way. My knee looked like porridge for weeks. Bec and my daughters never go near this car. I can see one of my dogs losing an ear though. 🤔
    • Nice, love a good GTS-t.  IMHO the factory body kit with the 'aero' front bumper is perfect. Can't improve on it unless it's a GT-R. But it looks like you changed it to the normal bumper?
    • Easy solution to both of those. Put a split bit of garden hose on each one. Attractive and practical!
    • So I guess the next thing to do will be to discuss whether to create a new section of the forums to hold the library (boo hiss?), somewhat undoing the recent tidy up, or if there is a bolt on wiki module for Invision? (I must profess ignorance as to what has been done, what it might cost, etc. I have only briefly googled and seen discussion on adding it.) Or is a wiki even the best way to do what I'm talking about? It possibly isn't. Given that we're trying to re-display forum content, it probably needs to be presented as forum content in forum format, and a wiki would probably struggle with that. A wiki might still be the best way to do some other things, so I'll keep the idea simmering if we don't use it here. Back to the library as "part of the forums". Would we do a single new library? Or put a library thread in each section? Pluses and minuses for each of these, surely. Would we do as I originally suggested, and make the first post in the library be the total of the library, with any reply posts just being the inputs and suggestions I originally posited? Or would we allow posts to accumulate one after the other, each containing additions to the library? Maybe the first post is still an index or something. It's all sounding horribly more manual and messy than my original brain fart. But I hope there's some other good ideas floating around - because every time I come up with a new one of my own I immediately see problems with it.
    • Tips look fine to me......but Boring stuff: Legalities - Vehicle standards notes that exhausts cannot extend to a point where they could cause injury Scary stuff: Mrs cuts open her shin putting stuff in the boot (ensure you have some bandaids and shiny jewellery handy)
