Hey guys,

I thought this might help most of us in here to see what this level of power is really like in realtime as this is the power range most widely targetted by most of yous.

So if anyone has any Youtube clips of any 250rwkw vs 300rwkw Skyline GTST/GTR or Skyline vs EVO, basically anything within this power range (or 270, 280 etc), would they be kind enough to post on here..

It can be anything, drag vs race, circuit or street and a short clip would be nice.

For an RB25

if you want excellent response, 250 or less

if you want fairly good response with a bit more poke, 275

if don't mind average response but want more power, 300

if you dont care about response at all, 300+

imho 270-290 is the sweet spot

Cheers mate, my 187rwkw on stock blower, although responsive doesn't push me back brutally in my seat and go 'holy shit' like I want it to....pinch.gif Need something fairly powerful to make my mates crap in their pants and also be reasonably responsive on the street - something like a Kando TD06SL2-20G or GT3076R. I can't imagine how 250rwkw and under can be fast or in 'ohhh faarrk' territory, as its not much from 187rwkw and 180-200 is pretty lame imho..

If you want your mates to say 'oh fark' you should brush up on your driving skills.

My S14 was particularly slow in my eyes (especially for an SR strapped disco) but I still made the rather experienced import owner crap his pants and think it was UBER. Instantly paid cash for the turbo and picked it up a couple of days after.

Having owned an Evo, I dont think they are all that uber either if you are just a foot down man... Yet you could always....

Foot down and wait..... FOR T88!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That would surely feel ballistic. Otherwise learn to keep it on the boil, and everything is suddenly scarily fast.

I will try to recover some of my old HDD data soon, and will post some videos of 180kw S13s and my old Evo 4 (nearly stock). They are surprisingly quick.

Ahh not interested in internal builds - so lets keep it at 'street / stockish level' ie not more than 300-320rwkw, meaning no T88s or T04Zs or..well you got the drift. I always liked EVOs because of their short distance acceleration and cornering, makes skylines seem bit 'boatish' lol, although I would a GTR anyday over any import.

And of course the 180rwkw S13 being much lighter and more chuckable than a more powerful boat would feel more scary..:turned:

Ha, can't do this on Sydney roads...no..no...no.... A few seconds blast here n there is all thats required / livable..

I run 255rwkw. It seems to be a figure you get very used to... and only a drive of other less powerful cars really makes you appreciate the "feeling" you get from that figure.

That has netted me 111mph at the strip, which I think is about right for the dyno read out. Some people with less RWKW have done higher mph, and some people claiming more have less MPH. Its hard to say.

All i know is 111 is good for a low 12 with the right launch - which i think is 250rwkw territory

The new build will be inbetween the 300-350 mark and should be fun, however with traction issues i assume it wont pin you back as much in lower gears...

As for EVO's, a mates Evo that runs 305awkw pins you to the seat like nothing i have been in before and is used for circuit mainly with occasional street use, it pulls like crazy!

Or get the best of both worlds and put a 260kw 98 setup on e85 to get 300kw with super response ahaha.

agreed, anythign under 250 or even 260 is boring

When i am back on the road Dori ill get him to come out on a cruise and show you what i mean, its an animal... Ill see if i can get the vid from last Wednesday at WSID vs a GTR

mine doesnt have any traction issues from 2nd you have to sort out the suspension, tyres, and how it ramps onto boost.

get it all right and just because its rwd doesnt mean its all a cloud of smoke before 4th.

250 is good enough for a street car, can get that with basically stock response and a big midrange kick. Anything more will be more fun but yeah, a bit of a handful if you want a kick in normal driving conditions <100kph without looking like a complete loon.

Yeh you become used to the power extremely quickly.

That said, I'm only 2mph off a mates XR6T ute running 480rwhp.

A genuine 250rwkw in a GTST makes for a very fast street car, perfect for small spirited drives. I'm keen to push my GTRS up to around 1.3bar and see if I can reel off another 15rwkw. I'd be super happy then.

Good point TiTan, i am hoping my combo comes onto boost pretty quickly but wont know until it hits the rollers i guess... Impressive build BTW

The 34 was really not that impressive at 255rwkw as mentioned above, with a high flow turbo i expected a responsive punch but it really didn't give one, this may have come down to the tune but it sure wasn't a weapon in any way!
