Hey guys,

just bought a 92 r32 GTST RB20DET

When i have in Neutral i can rev it high and it sounds perfect, but when i put it into gear ( R AND 1st) and take off it looses power straight away and goes to stall untill i put clutch back in..

i have waited untill warm and even put 10LT of high octane and injector cleaner just incase it was clogged injectors as i think fuel in it was a bit old,

could this be a clutch issue?? as the pedal is loose to floor untill i pump it a few times but than it looses its stiffness and hits floor again causing some grinding on gears,

Any ideas guys?

Cheers

the clutch issue is most likely caused by an issue with the clutch line. may just need a bleed.

as for the power issue, it may be an issue with the afm, spark plugs, fuel, cooler piping, etc. i'd start with a new fuel filter, new spark plugs, cleaning the afm and checking the cooler piping for leaks/hose popped off. checking the ecu for fault codes would probably be a good idea too.

and did you put 10L of injector clean/octane boost in? if so then that won't be helping your cause. you would be better off draining the fuel out and putting fresh fuel in.

hey man thanks for the help..

i will replace Fuel filter, i added 10L of 98octane and one small bottle of injector cleaner, i sat it in the driveway and ran it for half hour and gave it a good rev to flow fresh fuel through but the

check engine light came on (think became a bit hot) I will drain the fuel tomorrow and run a fresh 15 - 20 L of high octane through.

ill let you know how i go mate. im new at all this so i need all the help i can get haha cheers bud!

You mentioned (by a double post) that the car was sitting in some dudes backyard for ages... the fuel no doubt stale and octane booster wont do crap for it (only destroy your oxygen sensor). If it still does it with fresh fuel then read the sticky about the 4500-5500rpm misfire thread

Injector cleaner doesn't really clean dirty injectors. It will keep clean injectors clean, but can't remove the wax that builds up in the injector needles. You need to get them sonic cleaned.

Octane boost is perfectly safe for O2 sensors.
