Hi

I am looking at converting from auto to manual in the next few months.

I’ve go some of the parts like the centre console and the handbrake and pedal set.

Has anybody on this forum done a conversion or got a link to one?

It's not so much different than swapping the trans on any other car. Your biggest concern is the e-brake relocation and TCU (transmission control unit). You'll want to try to get parts from the same year model as your own car.

After that it's all about either the technical knowledge, or deep pockets.

The mechanical side should be straight forward (meaning, like any other auto-manual swap), you just need all the parts. You might run into issues with the auto ECU, some of them need to be able to talk to the TCU, so you may need to leave that in place. I have also heard of idle issues with these sorts of swaps. Idealy you should swap in a Manual ECU too, but this might need a harness change.. but if a can of worms.

Safest option (and possibly cheaper) is to sell your car and buy a 6MT version.

Too much hassle. Like sonicii said, just sell the auto and get a manual.

Don't forget all manual V35s come with Brembo brakes and LSD from factory. So if your car is 03/04 series 1 model you might need some work done to the brakes too.
