No you can leave the gearbox where it is and pull the motor out instead

The wealth of information i am constantly learning from SAU is invaluable. I will take my engine out tomorrow and check my clutch, Thank you.

Those marks look way more like defects in the pressure plate.

It has been specifically rubbing at those points.

Has someone machined that pressure plate previously?

I've got a Jim Berry pressure plate that is totally munted from heat and ready to explode, it's got cracks EVERY WHERE through it, but doesn't have the rub marks like you have.

You seriously look to have had some high spots in your pressure plate.

And who ever machined it appears to have machine not just the pressure plate, but the whole damn thing... WTF?

Okay so I just got a engine hoist for real cheap from the for sale section.

Should be here on Thursday.

Any walkthroughs on how to get the engine out to get to the gearbox?

Best to start by removing the rear cradle and diff assembly. Let us know when you have done this and we can give you the next step :)
