Hey all,

So a few months ago I started my car up with a loose oil filler cap (the result of servicing your car after a few too many beverages blush.gif), and the lining on the underside of my bonnet is now soaked in oil. This means every time I close my bonnet, all my cooler piping and radiator etc. gets covered in oil. Ignoring the possibility that this is a fire risk, it is really fkn annoying having to clean all my polished parts every time I open the bonnet.

So what is my best option here? Should I remove the lining and try to degrease and wash it all out? Or am I better off removing it all together and ditching it?

Rubbish, it does nothing to the paint, its sound deadener not heat insulation. The engine bay paint is exactly the same as the bonnet paint and has no issues being an inch away from the turbine housing.
