Cracked Rim

Hey guys, as the title says i've got a cracked rim and i'm not sure what to do.

I was giving my R33 its usual weekend clean and noticed a crack on of the spokes of the front left rim... I havent noticed it before and i'm just wondering what could have caused it and what i should do.

If anyone could tell me if its safe to drive on at all or if i should get it repaired or get a new rim i'd appreciate the help. I'm not loaded either so the least expensive/time consuming solution would be great.

Its a genuine Rays Gram Lights 57C (17 x 7.5 + 30) if that makes any difference.

i probably wouldnt drive on them - dont know how fixable that is..

+1 for not driving on it. you may hit a pot hole or bump one day and the wheel may just give out. also doubt it can be repaired

thats shit man ! rays are 2 expensive for that shit to happen but as said man wouldn't drive on it .. get a wheel repair place to look at it for u i garentee they will say scrap it.

Don't even contemplate fixing it, it's far beyond repair.

When the spoke is cracked all the way through like that it's stuffed.

If you bought these rims new, then not only should they come with a 12 month manufactures warranty, but you also have an implied warranty. Basically that means they should be fit for the purpose they are designed for, be free of defects, and should last a reasonable amount of time under normal conditions.

yep, i agree with the above, take that rim to simms and get another rim either under warranty or outright

Thanks for the replies guys, I put the rim back on the car this evening and as I let the jack down the spoke just snapped... Cant drive on it either way now haha I'm just happy I wasn't going down the highway when it happened.

They came with the car so I doubt id have any luck getting a refund or a brand new one

I've found a replacement pair for the front (cheap too) which I'm having a look at tomorrow.

Ive had a couple of rims crack over the years, checking the wheels is part of the car wash routine and also if Im standing near the car I'll do a quick walk around

Cheers for the help again, got my new pair of rims yesterday which were in mint condition. Turned out to be an inch wider so they rub a bit at full lock... look the biz though as they sit pretty well flush.

They came with a brand new pair of toyo proxes t1r's so i thought a bargain for only $300.

Will be doing a regular check from now on
