Hey guys, been noticing more and more what look to be scratches (and paw prints) on my car from the neighborhood cats. They are not deep so they should polish out but I want to know how I could stop them getting on there...

I've bought a cover to hopefully try stop any marks of they do get on there, thought about baiting them although it isn't really viable as I've got 2 small dogs.

Anyone had any similar issues and any ideas how to prevent them? Was thinking of finding something cats really hate and spraying it on my car cover...

I'd either get a slug gun and start playing comando with the neighborhood cats or get some cat traps.. just like Dogs, cats shouldn't allowed on other peoples property IMO.

You think you got problems mate I have 2 rather large amstaffs that like to use the roof of my car as a lookout to see over the fence..was resprayed about 5 year ago now my paint is rooted..i tried building a fence and they tore it down..i tried kicking their heads in but it just makes them stupider..

The only success I have had is coating the car in wd40, that way they just slide off..but as you can imagine this isn't great to wash off..

But your best bet maybe coating your car in something the cat hates stuck to its fur, that way it will get sick when it licks itself..a heavy wax or something may do it..

Use to have cat traps at my old place but it isn't an option as my dogs will just trap themselves lol... gun wouldn't help either as I don't have time to sit and wait for it.

Cats hate potent smells. My dad had issues with his car and bike and ended up putting lemon juice in bowls and put them round the car.

Even put it on the bonnet/roof and see if it works.

there is special cat repellant spray you can get. spray that on your wheels, or all around the car and youll be sweet

cool will look at this repellant... who would stock it? hardware, pet shops?

if it fails may get the cat traps out and keep my dogs inside n see how I go

Cats have good tastes , choosing skylines over other cars.

My cat chooses my skyline over my red lancer all the time.

black pepper sprinkled around the car helps but needs topping up often due to rain and wind..

when i want my dogs to stop digging holes i fill their holes with their poo and they stop..

So maybe if you cover your car in cat shit they will stay away
