i think the closing of dream 15s thread "what have you done to c34 lately performance wise" was a bit harsh really all is saying is have a thread for performance modifications to c34s. as there is a vast diffrence between them and m35s and some ppl have specific intrests and dont want to waddle through 10 pages of cruise control and light and stereo modifications to pick out points of performance issues of intrests. if you want it could be named diffrently to aviod confusion anf havr the stagea performance mods thread . end rant flame suit on

Frankly, I don't see the need to go back to C34 vs M35 arguments.

I'll play devils advocate for a minute;

If you want to be like that; the C34 mod thread could easily be titled "Stuff that people have done 11ty billion times on r33 and R34 Skylines, but my point of difference is a hatch on the back of my car..." :rolleyes:

*Note*; Not my actual opinion; just a hypothetical point of view.

If it's sooo painful to read through pages of "10 pages of cruise control and light and stereo modifications to pick out points of performance issues of interests" why don't you perform a mod that hasn't yet been done on an R33/34 Skyline...

It's just a stupid, divisive argument. We are all in this together. For every 500hp build; there's 10 guys fitting Sumitomo calipers or rewiring their HID's.

Appreciate all the little mods, along with the major upgrades that go with either car, rather than whinging because everyone isn't playing with the same toy you are.:thumbsup:

was not trying to spark 34 vs 35 argument just saying there are diffrences between the cars and a seperate performance section would be interesting as you said there is a place for all levels inerests. lol c34 are just r33

etc

.wow we all have internal combustion engines with boost it aint rocket science show me any one doing anything diffrent m35 or 34 ?????

Was just trying to start a thread with a few more interesting things mainly focusing on the performance (engine mods, handling, braking, etc) because for some people it does get a bit boring sifting through pages of the same old crap. Seeing as there are alot of modded C34's it would be nice to focus on them for a change if light bulbs and audi's are what the M35 boys are going to take over the other thread with.

Well crack on with your mods mate; no one is stopping you. Maybe even start a Build Thread.

It's not about anyone taking over a thread; it's a pretty true barometer for who is doing what with their cars at any given time.:whistling:

Looking forward to seeing your innovative, mega dollar build; filled with never before seen mods, with no boring bits.:thumbsup:

I think you mean "hear, hear" Scott.

I don't really care if there is a C34 and M35 thread, but if it was to be divided, why stop at that?

I mean C34 = done before on an R33/R34 Skyline

M35 = not done before 'cause it is an orphan

PM35 = done before on a Z33/V35

Honestly, is it that bad to wade through or take a look at what the "other side" is doing?

Never know, might see something you like :)

Gotta love irony!

The thread was closed by Nick, who owns a C34!

Why not just use the search function built into the site or use Google search query site:skylinesaustralia.com followed by what you're looking for.

Always works for me.

I'd like a "What have you done to your Black NM35 with most of an Aero kit, some painted V35 rims and a partially installed reverse camera today" thread.

ZOMG; it's gonna be AWESOMEZ!:banana: :banana: :banana:

That's right; THREE DANCING BANANAS!!! SOOO BADASS!

Well i would have continued on with it if a certain someone didnt close the thread.

And who said anything about a mega dollar build? Why would i pay someone else to work on my car when i can do it myself and cut half the cost, considering labour is where most of everyones money goes lol.

    • Coming home late at night and driving past the police is the only reason i need one haha And yeh, definitley needs a switch to quickly enable it, dont have time to be getting my phone, opening an app, waiting for it to update etc before being able to make the change
    • Because it is financially convenient for them lol. Why wouldn't they want to give you the lowest possible valuation for your car?
    • Yep. @Duncan also shannons they will rip you dry and will be probably limited on how much you can drive. Also keep in mind that you always have to have it garaged with Shannons, with enthusiasts as per their PDS you can have it 2 times per week on the driveway for example.
    • I had a generic 4" Varex rear box on my old V8, worked a treat for sneaking home late at night, it was as quite as stock when closed The car was "fairly" loud when open as it consisted of 1" 7/8 headers to 3" catted Y pipe, to 4" single, it did have a resonator in the mid pipe and only the Varex out the back I also hard wired in a Varex dash mount switch, as the key fob thing is a pain to use when driving I wouldn't recommend giving the beans when it is closed though as it creates a large restriction in the exhaust  It also can in very handy when pulled over for "random" breath tests or just cruising past the constabulary
    • Here is the before and after of the scraping/sanding of the IC pads on the tachometer board for the fix mentioned in this thread. And yes it worked fine after. Just a note if you change any components on the board the tach calibration can be wrong showing the wrong idle etc...only problem is once it is installed back in the cluster you can't get to it to adjust...ouch! My fix was to cut out the calibration pot (the blue one) from the board and run it with two wires to the fuse panel under the dash where I could adjust the idle calibration once everything was installed. And yes I soldered everything up again including the half soldered components either side of the IC in my photos
