Got my car (which i'm parting out - http://www.skylinesa...ic/page__st__80) and much of it is gone - including stuff that made it roll once upon a time.

Just wondering if anyone's had a car removed from their garage which didn't have wheels and was up on jack stands - anyone know how a tow truck guy would get it up onto the truck? Is it a difficult job? What do they do?

Any help would be great, thanks :)

if the tow truck can get close it is pretty simple....they can just drag in on the chassis rails. You may want to protect whatever surface it is on with wooden boards or similiar

alternatively, 2 trolley jacks (1 at either end) will let you roll and empty shell, they are pretty light. Just take it slowly

Don't think so mine was just winched up. If you can find a couple of round fence posts (probably not if you're in the city) you can drop it off the stands on to them or just some bits of plywood or even some long planks if you want to protect your floor.

If you can find a couple of round fence posts (probably not if you're in the city)

Or if you live in a new area where they use metal instead of timber for fences :)

Sounds like a good idea though - i've got some garden sleeper offcuts which are quite thick - I guess i could put some thick cardboard underneath them and drop the rear onto those to minimise the friction between the sleepers and the floor.

Thanks again for your help everyone!
