johnGTS-t
Hi all. Havent been here for awhile, so I thought id share some good news. After numerious problems with my car, we finally found some reliablity and came out class B winner for the weekend, while almost everyone else had dramas. The only problem we had was a lack of power, the car is tuned with 300kws, but some of that seems to have gone awol! Did find were some of it was going, out though a loose bolt on the the dump pipe, but once that was done up, it still didnt feel super quick like it did before. We have had the head off, so maybe we didnt get the cams spot on, so it will get tuned before we race again. managed a fastest lap of 61.6 for the weekend, but should of been able to do 60's if all the power was there. ive uploaded a couple of video to youface. Clandestine
Looking good man, a couple of guys from SAU were up there on Sunday (myself included) and it turned out to be an awesome day. 61.6 is a good solid time, but 60's at symmons would be a great base time Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/396859-2012-targa-invitationals-v8supercars/#findComment-6302348 Share on other sites

Clandestine
so says you... Mr 70s You're such a super troll Mr. Nowell, what's your best time around symmons again? Oh yeah, that's right... I've never even driven symmons. Just commenting on times in regards to the competition like every other joker out here, not comparing them to anything I've even experienced Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/396859-2012-targa-invitationals-v8supercars/#findComment-6302553 Share on other sites

It was crazy watching the race on Sunday, half the field disappeared by the end of the race I'm pretty sure he's coming up for some quarter laps (drifting) this weekend Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/396859-2012-targa-invitationals-v8supercars/#findComment-6302760 Share on other sites

t01-100
To everyone anyone that didn't run this event and could’ve... sorry, but you seriously missed out! I wasn't that fussed about running at the V8s in the past, but with my car finally up and running and with some tyres, pads and rotors left-over from Rally Tas, at the very last minute I thought why no let’s do it. For me it was such a cruisey reintroduction in to circuit racing with zero pressure... so much so I missed qualifying due to a minor (clutch master cylinder) issue, and instead of fixing it straight away we watched qualifying then sorted it! It was fun getting the hang of the 'new' car on the track (particularly off the back of the grid in race one!), re-understanding tyre performance checking out cooling temperates etc... and generally enjoying some dicing with a bunch of top guys and it was pretty cool just being part of the V8 circus. One of the best things about the Invitationals was the race lengths. I always enjoyed the longer races back in 2004 when I last did a full circuit season in the R32 with 12 and 15 lap races. Being out there for 12 laps at the V8s was great fun. Five laps like usual TSS rounds are just too short, seven fine, ten great... 12 or 15 would be awesome again. If you have a car able to compete and the V8SC offer the opportunity for this category to run again in 2013, don't give it a second though, just get amongst it!
