this may be a dodgey question, but according to some people i am aquainted with who claim to be in the know, an eManage cant be tuned in SA...

now i thought that sounded a bit dodge.. but then i thought:

case 1: well does that mean no one has the software, so when buying an emanage you gotta buy the software too then you can get some to tune it.

case 2: no one has the knowledge to tune it even with the software.

the first case seems like the most likely but at the same time unlikey, come on surely someone would have taken the oppurtunity to be the sole tuner in SA.

the second case seems unliely too. im in no way, or claim to be a in the know in regards to tuning, but does tuning entail reading a/f readings and adjusting fuel/ignition accordingly, which shouldnt be too hard as long as there was some common sense used when designing eManage software.

any thoughts, experiences?

as i got a e-01 i have ring up all workshop i know about if they can install/tune a e-manage last year.

D1 garage used to sell E-manage fitted +tuned for $1400, but then they fxxk it up and send the car (a soarer) to RPM.

RPM seems to able to do it but not sure if they are doing it well, heard Ivan keep mention about the soarer is going to be tune for at least months but still no go. Then i seen Ivan tuning viva garage's black 180/15 front with a labtop. maybe viva garage let their car to be the white mouse. they are the only people i know have exp. with e-manage.

tilbrook's mike CLAIM he can do it, but when they install my e-01, he has to spend nearly 1 day to do it and even blow my starter motor, finally i paid 350 for just install a boost controller. Mike even brave enough to charging me the start motor they blow, but then i spoke to mark and he know what he shouldn't do, anyway i'm not really happy.

I heard the same as you Maxx, and i think i know the guy you are talking about with the Soarer.... Black one?

If so he came into work and wanted to know if we wanted it to sell, he DID get an extra 70kw out of it tho so someone was doing somehting right....

Mike Cash i have access to the software if you do decide to take that route, plz PM me for more details....

But i would have to agree with Enrico, save that lil extra and go the PowerFC, way easier to tune and alot more options than the E-manage

im not sure what i want to do now. i mean after reading the emanage thread in SAU somewhere it looks like a good product and a very powerful tool for what you pay for. on the other hand, it seems in SA no one has any idea how to work it or those who do should probably not be tuning cars.

for what i want i cant justify the full ecu route. i mean, im never gonna want anything crazy... all im looking for to tune the car back to normal (after a stock ecu tune was rooted up by one of adelaides most 'reputable' workshops) and then have the potential to use a vg30, cams and injectors.

from what i read, emanage setup properly is a real good thing.. is anyone disputing that?

See if you can pick up a 2nd hand PFC or later version Microtech for ~1k.

If you're looking at $1400 for the E-manage fitted and tuned then 1k for a 2nd hand PFC/Microtech still leaves $400 for fit and tune (fitting is near zero cost).

It may take a while to find either ECU at a low price, but they do pop up from time to time.

are you sure of what you are saying? seems a bit harsh to be slamming someone without first hand experience, and RPM dont touch emanage, so how did they get 70kw extra (as MADGT4 says)?

I know they used to sell the emanage fitted and tuned, but the guy who did fit and tune them doesnt touch them anymore, he has had enough of tuning cars for a living - therefore D1 Garage dont sell them anymore - unless a customer orders one. The ones I have seen him work on got results that the guys at RPM were very impressed with (he used RPMs dyno).

From what I have been told, the problem with the e-manage is finding how to activate all the options, and also correctly wiring the car up seems to be a bit of a black art.

If you want a mild management optioin, go something like the unichip, or get a safc and an itc. Before you buy any ecu, make sure you can find someone who is familiar with them and will give you good results. And remeber, a really good tune takes time, and costs money. you get what you pay for.

like steve said, i believe both emanage and unichip are very similar units, both piggyback and both have similar features. The unichip has alot more tuner knowledge then emanage, however if u can find someone who knows how to tune it for a good price, hell go for it :(

That's what RPM owner Ivan told me when i ask if they can install a e-manage.

Maybe he make it up to avoid me go to D1 garage instead of RPM??

well how much power are u lookin for. If u dont want over 210 rwkws ill sell u my unichip. It is perfect for what u want, and not for what i want.

wat mods u have?

so far cooler, exhaust, and boost plus a rooted stock ecu re-map. there is also some speculation the cams are not of the stock variaty but no one can actually confirm it. i have a vg30 turbo and a malpassi risng rate waiting to go on.

future plans would be a possible HKS turbo but not much beyond that. and when i'm talking HKS i mean something that wont require an external gate.

short term goal: 200 - 210 rwkw

long term goal: 250rwkw (max)

im interested in the uni chip now that u meantion it.
