New To Forums - R32 Gtr Owners In Brisbane?

Hey everyone,

My name is Matt and I'm new to the forums.

I'm going to be off my p-plates soon and I've been thinking more and more about wanting to own an R32 GTR. Only issue is I have never been in an R32 GTR before and would love to go for a drive (passenger of course) in one and ask the owner some questions about the car too (reliability and how the car goes if it's a daily drive).

I have been in a friends twin-turbo Supra before and just wanted to see how the R32 GTR goes in comparison (interior etc also).

Is there anyone in Brisbane that has an R32 GTR that wouldn't mind showing me their car and taking me for a drive in it to see what it is like and to ask some questions of their pride and joy?

thats if he sees this. there are a few people here that own them. they are no slouch as you are aware so if you are going to buy one make sure it has service history. (also make sure you have spare money for repairs.)

OP my 32 GTR was on the boat on its way to Australia before I was off my p's. I had a decent deposit saved up and enough money for insurance, any repairs that needed to be done and to do a major service (all belts, plugs and all fluids) I had been to the bank and my loan was pre approved and just had to wait until I was off my p plates until they would give me the money. Expect to pay between $1500 to $2000+ a year for insurance

I have only ever had one major problem with mine in over a year of owning it and that was with the gearbox and it was fixed under warranty. I used mine as a daily for the first 8 months of owning it and never had any problems. They can be very reliable if they have been well maintained. Mine is completely stock besides the NISMO turbo back exhaust and it still has the factory boost restrictor fitted. If you do by one that has had a bit of work done to it make sure the work has been done by a well know shop with a good reputation and the owner has receipts for the work that has been done.

End of the day yes they can be reliable if you find a good one and don't regreat buying it one bit. The GTR is my first car aswell. They are a good car to buy, but you need to be a sensible driver and not wanting to race everyone on the street. Every time I get the 32 out the shed now (it's no longer my daily) for a drive I get at least one person asking me to race and I just let them speed off from the lights and I just keep driving normally. Treat the GTR with The respect it deserves and you will be fine.

If your still serious about buying one of these cars and no one in Brisbane will take you for a spin in theirs next time I am in Brisbane in the GTR I can take you for a spin ( no idea when i will be down there next) or if you want to make the trip up to toowoomba one weekend i could take you for a spin

after 18 months of trying I came to the realisation they are a shit daily! I would take you for a drive but I am a few weeks away from being back on the road after blowing some turbo gaskets!

How did you ever guess? I don't know anyone else better and who's experience fits the OPs circumstances to a tee.

I don't even know what P plates and young driver restrictions are ...they weren't around when I got my license (and I'm still very young myself).
