Doesn't the disclaimer cover you against this crap?

I remember the OCAU forums being offline for a while for simailar circumstances.

In a word, no. Just because there is a disclaimer, or because what was said is the truth, doesn't stop someone from bringing an action against you, and even if they don't win, the object is often to outspend you because lawyers and barristers are expensive and companies tend to have greater resources than individuals.

LW.

so with regard to getting "badley screwed" if you are lucky enough to have been put in this position by a buisness of some discription (not a private sale) all you have to do is click on this link http://www.consumer.qld.gov.au/oft/oftweb....nt&L1=Consumers this contains an online complaint form

I spoke to a very helpfull guy in this department who informed me that people are being swindled every day in Australia by company's like ******* devolopments, he said "if only they would just contact us, a prosecution is very easy providing you are dealing with an bona fide company that is not liquidated"

here is another usfull link that may help

http://www.consumer.qld.gov.au/OFT/OFTWeb....ent&L1=About+Us

it is a great shame when sh*t occurs, as it breaks down any trust you may have with honest people, I won't be sending money away again without gaurantees which is a shame because the forums are a great way of getting parts, it always seems to be that small minority that ruin it for everyone !

it may be a good idear for the above links to go in a 'sticky' ?

PM name please.

Oh, and out of interest, isnt it liable if its on the internet - after all it is written? And Predator, I do believe you cannot even bitch about a company to your mates. If enough witnesses overhear it, ie reasonable proof you said it, thats still slander.

Best way is to give a totally factual account - without any opinions, and let others make up their mind - of course, best to keep the names out of it, we dont want SAU to have to fight a legal defence - then again, if Prank brought back the point system (I want a bold user name dammit:p;))

    • Forgot to mention. I love the fact that Greg, Gregged Up, the model of his car, that has so many gregged up stories about its build! I had to have a little laugh. At the same time thinking "That's the sort of thing I'd do to myself!"
    • Not yet, might end up being easter now, didn't end up getting time off over xmas.    I've been seeing some concerning things online now too. Lots of people with issues, could all be setup issues but the consequences in some cases are significant.    All of the below are other peoples stories, not mine and are unverified.  Seen 2 x broken adapter ring that destroyed the gearbox as it failed.   They still do seem to have twin plate rattle despite claims of silent. Several issues with it not holding power but some evidence of constant pressure on plate. Setup issues with bite point.   Lot of people after 2-4 weeks swapping back to another brand.    On the positive side, I've seen a barra put down near 1000hp at the wheels and its held it.  Also everyone seems to confirm the pedal is light.    Does have me a little cautious and looking at ATS carbon clutches again .......
