R33 Computer In Boot

hey guys and girls of SAU. i have a 1993 r33 gts type s, automatic. i have been doing a bit of rewiring of all the aux stuff in my car and i noticed that there is a computer module located in the boot (bolted to the bottom of the parcel shelf). i had removed it a few days ago and had forgotteb about it. i started my car up today and everything seemed to work alright. my question is what does this computer do? it has no stickers on it just some numbers printed on the back which im assuming is the part number. looking at the pins it has 4 quite large pins, 2 lots of 8 and 2 lots of 10 small pins.

Yep. Put it back in otherwise you will lose your power steering.

You won't lose "all" of it. It's still assisted, just not as much and will be heavy compare to normal. The HICAS ecu controls the assistance amount at vs. vehicle speed.
