Hi all,

I've just upgraded the turbo on my EVO1 4G63 from the standard journal bearing setup to a Garrett GTX3076. This is my first ball bearing turbo and I have read that a restrictor is required in the oil feed line so as to not blow the seals.

I'll be taking the oil feed from the standard location on the head, not from the oil filter housing (where the pressure is much greater) and I have been told that I won't need the restrictor if the oil feed is taken from here.

Are you guys who are running Garrett BB turbos using a restrictor in the oil feed line? I'm just trying to get as much information/feedback as possible before I get around to finally starting this thing up.

Cheers,

Shayne

Im not with my GTX3071 as there is one fitted in the top as standard on most BB Garrett's. That said I would be running a filter then another 1mm dash fitting restrictor in the turbo oil feed just in case. Its not like they cost much. Look on ebay there is plenty.
