This was with

1) was with a straight bar removing clutch pack altogether, solid state lock

2) was over modified transfer case with the bolt in the back trick and 4WD controller

The key was not to over do preload and not have the controller turned up to high, this car had the 4WD controlled by the MoTec

So did you ever verify what clutch they recommend you run ?

In the end I just went the OS R3C. It will all bolt up.

Most guys I sent PM's too who run them over in the uk run the R3C too. Good enough for them, good enough for me.

Do you rate that bolt in the transfer case mod mick.

I've had it done on mine.. Car seemed to respond better in terms of traction

The spline hub is too small, Pete. :(

I knew that, NOT :)

Thats a shame, once it had a little torque it was not bad, even on the steepest hill here, the lookout, stopped and took off a few times and all good.

On a stock 32, yeah good cheap mod that works a treat, but it isn't as good as a modded and properly set preload and if coupled with the modded clutch packs and 4WD controller is a recipe for front diff failure/removal

What is the input spline on the OS88

It's the Chevy spline iirc.

An extra two splines and wider. That was the whole issue with the coppermix

Probably been mentioned before.....but did you look at getting the Coppermix centre machined/modified so suit?

I did look into it. I rang a few places to get the spline hub replaced to suit and got a few mixed answers. I wasn't really comfortable in hacking it up so I just got the R3C with the adjustable fork and release bearing kit. That way it will just bolt right in without a fuss.

I did make a thread on the pommy forum and a few guys run the R3C without issue. Good enough for tem, good enough for me.

Also, the coppermix has been in the car for 10

Years this year and hasn't had a rebuild/serviced. So at the minimum I'd have to replace the friction plates and have the spline hub done. It would almost be the same as buying a new clutch anyway.

Rightio.

After doing my head in the last few weeks, I have decided to return the car back to a standard state and move it along. The OS 88 hasn't arrived yet but i'll put that in the garage for a "rainy" day.

Wait what? You're returning the car to stock?
