Would anybody know how restrictive the standard airbox is?

I mean if you use a high quality filter element will it be restrictive?

I recall that Nismo used the standard airbox for quite high powered cars and from a design standpoint the

airbox is quite good (drawing in fresh outside air)

Has anyone before/after experience/facts?

Thanks :)

Thanks,

I was also meaning GTST, not GTS . ..

At current I have a HKS-Filter element, not too sure if it is any good.

(green foam filter)

To see if it makes any difference I should probably remove the element on the dyno to have some figures.

I'm at about 250KW at the engine (1BAR) with SMIC , and just mounted a FMIC.

Next step would be some boost increase, so just wondering about the filter ...

A very old question. Keep the box and snorkel. Add to it with another cold air supply through the spare intercooler pipe hole you now have if you wish. Don't forget a pod filter also impedes airflow. I used a Pipercross PX-PP1128 filter (no idea how it compares with the HKS unit).
