Timing

How do you set the timing. I have to remove the water pump cover and replace it as when I received my RB26DETT motor the water pump and cover were broken. I dont want to remove the timing cover and then not be able to reset the timing if it gets messed up. I tried searching but couldnt find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

be very careful. I just changed the water pump in my alfa, got the timing wrong on the inlet side, ended up bending 3 valves $2000 damage Be careful
