R32 Twin Pot Caliper Specs

Recommended Posts

In order to get my car registered under the SA dedicated rally car scheme I must ensure that each brake system reservoir is larger in capacity than the swept volume of the caliper pistons i.e. the reservoir must not become empty when the pads wear from new to knackered.

Does anybody know the dimensions of the R32 caliper pistons?? Diameter and depth?

The attached is my caliper just to double check it is an R32

Ahhh thanks you Mr Smart Arse!!! If you looked at that google search linky you would have realised that it relates to the sliding caliper and the 4 pot but not the 2 pot as I asked (and posted a pic of). But thanks anyway ;)

Why do we bother with expert forums when people just sarcastically refer to google all the time? Beats me......

I just looked in the R32 GTR manual. The rear pistons are 38.1, and pad thickness is only 11.5mm. This should be exactly the same on GTSt. The front pistons are 40.4mm (but the GTR master is 1", and the GTSt are smaller than that) so it makes sense that the GTSt front cylinders are 38mm, as seen in the link above. GTR front pad thickness described as 10mm. They're supposed to be the same pads across all the Sumitomo 4 pots, so the thickness should be the same on GTSt.
