Hi all,

I've been lurking around SAU for a long time now. I first joined to get info on RB engines as I have a 26 going into my 240z. Recently I brought a c210 coupe though and here is it's story.

Picked it up from Adelaide in 2010 and drove it home with a mate. Here's the trip.

A little hard to read but it says 2015km, average speed 104km/h, max speed 157km/h, total time 20h33m. My GPS doesn't keep track when the ignition is off though, actual total was 25 hours as we stopped at a motel for 4 hours. Not a bad effort from Adelaide to Ipswich QLD.

Here it is when she arrived.

It had some exhaust leaks from broken studs and a few holes so I fitted new studs and put on a 240z exhaust manifold and front half of the piping. The 240z one is a 6-2-1 system with long secondaries, nothing special but definitely better than the original log.

The carby was stuffed so I put on these twins from my 240z. They are the original early round top 3 bolt style for anyone knowledgeable on zeds. This was also part of the reason I put the zed exhaust on too as the original Skyline one has the inlet and exhaust manifolds joined in the middle. You can't really use one without the other. I had them rebuilt and got some sock filters because they look cool.

The plan was to leave it as is and use it as a second car until after the zed is finished and do mild street build then. But as fate would have it this happened and changed all that. A guy pulled out onto a roundabout in front of me.

Now as I have to repair it and paint it I have bought some of it's plans forward. It will receive a respray and a colour change. I have a set of ZG bolt on flares that are not wide enough for the zed that will be used on the Skyline. Of course with flares some new wheels will be needed.

I have a set of 17x9.5 -19 Rota rb-r's that the zed may donate to the Skyline as a little get well soon present.

They look like 45 or 50 series though, here are some 235 40 series.

and some 255 40 series, I think I would go 235/40/17 if I went 17's.

I feel they are too pretty for the zed but I'm not sure about the size on the Skyline. The 9.5 part fits fine (with flares), but 17's will need 40 series tires to look right I think, and even then I don't want it looking too modern. If I decide against these then I'll be looking at 15x9's. These look good for the price.

Rota Shakotan's in 15x9 -10.

Post your vote for what wheel and in what size you would like to see me go with. Budget for wheels is around $1000.

Other than that if funds allow then I would like to throw on some s13 coilovers, disc brake rear and later model brakes on the front to suit the s13 knuckles. If I go with 17's I have a full set of z32 300zx brakes here. If I go 15's I'll go r31 rear and s15 2 pots up front. I have a 2 way Tomei lsd and 4.875 diff for it too.

Here is some of my inspiration.
