Just stumbled across this, Made me laugh thought i would share.

It plugs into your cigarette lighter and instanlty save you 20% of you fuel. And saves the earth ahah,

Do people actually buy this shit?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Save-20-Mini-Car-Auto-Gas-Fuel-Saver-Emission-Decreaser-Accelerator-More-/110830622927?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19ce0518cf

anyone else think it works by lighting a light whenever it gets a certain amount of supply voltage due to increased revs, or by the same technologly as iphones and sensing how hard you accerate, therefore making you more aware of your driving style?

thats the only logical way i think it could help with economy.

nope, totally wrong. i found some stuff on the net about them. have a read/laugh for yourself

NEOSOCKET REVIEW

After scouring the internet for fuel saving products and researching them, I finally found the product that lived up to all I was looking for. All I needed to do was simply plug-in the Neosocket into my car's 12 volt lighter/accessory adapter and I immediately began to save money on gas and improved my fuel economy.

Since very few people have the financial resources to convert their cars to natural gas or fuel cell technology, Neosocket has developed a simple and inexpensive way to improve the cars we already drive. The cost of hybrid cars is not at a level we can all benefit from yet, so clever devices like this will definitely make an impact for the millions of cars already on the road today.

You won't need to go under you hood to install anything or disassemble your interior which is always a plus. It has also been proven safe for use in any car that uses a 12 volt system and will not damage your onboard computer.

HOW DOES NEOSOCKET WORK ?

The Neosocket is a new application of an old technology. Basically, it acts like a small battery that helps your car's electrical system perform better. The small device is fitted with a

capacitor that once plugged in to your 12v adapter is instantly connected to the car's main electrical system. (capacitors are also commonly used to power the electronic flash in cameras)

The capacitor first charges and then discharges the stored electricity (voltage) when there is a heavy energy demand from the alternator. Heavy energy demand (reduced voltage) is caused by using any electrical accessory in your car including lights, windshield wipers, air conditioning, stereo or any combination of them.

Instead of the alternator and battery having to work overtime, Neosocket supplements the required voltage to reduce the load on the electrical system from any accessory that is being used. The reduced electrical demand frees up energy that can be better used to deliver a more constant and steady supply of electricity to the spark plugs and ignition system.

The result is a more efficient and complete combustion of the gasoline which will improve you gas mileage and produce cleaner emissions. You will also get better horse power, acceleration, and a smoother running engine despite daily driving conditions.

The fact is that fuel mileage will fluctuate in any car due to driving habits, lack of maintenance, traffic conditions and many other factors. All these factors will rob the fuel efficiency your car was meant to achieve. The main purpose of Neosocket is to help your engine consistently maintain its designed fuel efficiency despite of all these unpredictable situations.

basically they say it's a capacitor that supplies extra charge to the electrical system, taking strain off the alternator. unless you have a dynamo off a pushbike in the place of your alternator, and a few AA batteries in the place of your car battery, i doubt you will see any difference in fuel economy.

You will also get better horse power, acceleration

seems legit :ninja: , also all p plater should get this if that claim is true.

so whos stepping up and testing this for sau?

surely there has to be some law against shit like this???

i honestly cant believe that 7 people were dumb enough to buy this magical fuel saving dildo

There is a law against it. A law that has very severe consequences...

I believe it is called natural selection.

    • its funny you linked that video. a friend set it to me last night. i commented there, and checked SAU to see if anyone had commented on my thread and saw someone had posted. will try to help others when i can.
    • My rotisserie is due to be delivered next week and I need to get my R32 mounted on to it. I know how to mount it on the actual rotisserie but those of you that have, did you add any additional bracing to the chassis? I was planning on welding some 1x1 box section across the top of the seatbelt buckles, across the back seats and then down to the front footwells (and possible across from there also? I've also put the behind dash bar back in to give a bit more strength. Its mostly going to be the floor and sills being cut out with a little on the rear quarters
    • apparently people are still having trouble with this as well
    • Only problem with that is it's obvious to the police, but same same with the aes valve. Most people get the valve precat so it's harder to see when looking under the car from the rear.
    • It's been a looooooong while since I did this, but... No, from memory there's a feed ring around the inside of the squirter. Otherwise,  they would have to be too precise when machining the threads in the block, and the banjo bolts themselves.
