Hi everyone,

My girlfriend bought me a Turbosmart Dual Stage Boost Controller for my birthday. She thought since I speak about my car so much and is jealous that I love my 33 more than her lol that she'd go to autobarn and buy me it.

However, I have an eboost street and she said she bought it coz I was talking about a boost controller the other night with my old man. If she had of listened better I was talking to him about upping the boost once the car is run in.lol

I cannot return it as the dick from the shop (will not name store for privacy, etc)will not return it as she has lost the receipt. It is brand new and in the box, still has bubble wrap on it.

Will only accept COD or you can come pick up, etc.

She paid $279 for it, however, I will be happy with $250. I think this is a fair price considering they average $265 on eBay and you have to pay postage on top as well.

Please PM me if you're interested.

Thank you very much.

Hey guys, only received one PM so far :-(

I'm open to more realistic offers. If anyone is interested or knows of someone who wants one please let me know as I don't have use for it as I've already got the eboost street.

Thanks

No one genuinely interested? Have had a few PMs but just tyre kickers. I am willing to bring it to you at no extra cost and am genuinely selling i don't want to waste anyone's time or money. It's brand new and not like the others that have been posted up here that are second hand and have been put too close to the engine and almost melted. My one still has the bubble wrap on it and I have not even taken it out of the box when the missus bought it for me.

I would prefer to have someone actually use it and it's a good deal. These are $299 on Just Japs website. My girl paid $279 and I want $250ono which is not bad. Come on guys help me out please.

Hey man, I tried that already. I went to the exact store she bought it from and they basically said it is against their policy as without receipt they cannot put it back through their system. I think it's stupid as the mrs bought it from that exact store and sales person! I have not even taken it out of the box. I'm a bit upset about it actually coz I already have the eboost street so what a waste. Not even gona bother with eBay. Thought someone has to know someone who would want it for sure on such a large networking website as SAU. Oh well maybe someone will buy it. Like I said, I don't mind the drive to bring it to whoever wants to buy it and I'll even help them set it up with wiring and solenoid placement/fitment, etc.

Thanks for your reply. Hope you can sell yours too.

Hey guys,

thanks for your PMs. A few people have been asking for photos so I thought I'd upload one so everyone can have a look. It still has all the packaging still on it and everything is untouched.

Thanks

Well all I've has so far is tyre kickers. Seriously guys I don't want to waste anyone's time including my own. So please, if you're genuinely interested please send me a PM. I have replied to all as well. Cheers

It's brand new man. Seriously i only took it out of the box to take the photo coz another guy asked. My mrs got it for me for a present man, she feels like shit that she lost the receipt. If it was used then fair enough. Thanks for asking.

Hi all, I will only be considering offers over $200. Thanks. item is brand new and not used, please check photo for proof. And yes I will bring it to you and you can pay when I deliver it. Hope that answers all questions from the PMs too. Cheers

For the outdoor air sensor and sunlight sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN1-11 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. For the indoor air sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN2-3 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. The connector PIN numbers listed here are the genuine A31 PIN numbers. To avoid incorrect wiring, check with a tester before wiring. Also, disconnect the wiring in a location close to the sensor. The disconnected harness side wiring will not be used, so be sure to insulate it." Wish someone sold a conversion harness to just plug-and-play a Kouki 180sx digital climate control into C33/A31. I'm decent with wiring but feeling kinda lazy about taking this on. Edit: Did some more digging and found a helpful Minkara blog post about the conversion as well: https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/1831116/car/1360568/2284209/note.aspx "After installation is complete or the battery is replaced, you need to go into self-diagnosis mode and set the internal air recirculation. The way to do it is to "hold OFF with the key on for more than 5 seconds, set the number to 5, then press 卍→C." ↑↑↑It probably won't make sense unless you actually try it (・∀・)." Lol wtf

    • Well, yeah, the RB26 is definitely that far off the mark. From a pure technology point of view it is closer to the engines of the 60s than it is to the engines of the last 10 years. There is absolutely nothing special about an RB26 that wasn't present in engines going all the way back to the 60s, except probably the four valve head. The bottom end is just bog standard Japanese stuff. The head is nothing special. Celicas in the 70s were the same thing, in 4cyl 2 valve form. The ITBs are nothing special when you consider that the same Celicas had twin Solexes on them, and so had throttle plates in the exact same place. There's no variable valve timing, no variable inlet manifold, which even other RBs had either before the 26 came out or shortly afterward. The ECU is pretty rude and crude. The only things it has going for it are that the physical structure was pretty bloody tough for a mass produced engine, the twin-turbos and ITBs made for a bit of uniqueness against the competition (and even Toyota were ahead on the twin turbs thing, weren't they?) and the electronic controls and measuring devices (ie, AFMs, CAS, etc) were good enough to make it run well. Oh, and it sounds better than almost anything else, ever. The VR38 is absolutely halfway between the RB generation and the current generation, so it definitely has a massive increase in the sophistication of the electronics, allowing for a lot more dynamic optimisation of mapping. Then there's things like metal treatments and other coatings on things, adoption of variable cam stuff, and a bunch of other little improvements that mean it has to be a better thing than the RB26. But I otherwise agree with you that it is approximately the same thing as a 26. But, skip forward another 10 years from that engine and then the things that I mentioned in previous post come out to play. High compression, massively sophisticated computers, direct injection, clever measuring sensors, etc etc. They are the real difference between trying to make big power with a 26 and trying to make big power with a S/B50/54 (or whatever the preferred BMW engine of the week is).
