Hey guys and girls,

Me and the mrs are going to Japan next January through to the end of February next year.

We have researched and got 90% of you trip planned.

There is just a few car related things Im struggling to find info on.

We are going to; Tokyo - Osaka/Kyoto - Sapporo (winter Festival) - Tokyo again- Home

I have all the info on the tourist type attractions ie superbacs, megaweb, history garage ect

but cant find info on the following-

1- Wreckers/ 2nd hard parts/ part for old school cars-

I have a Ta22 Celica and a 120Y Datsun so while im there i want to try to find some hard to find parts to bring back. Things like GT vents, chin lips, ducktail spoilers, flares ect. Is there any good places to look for these things?

2- Classic Japanese cars-

I know Bikoworks is one of the good places to see some classics, is there anywhere else?

3- Wheels (Old school)

Is there any shops that specialize in old school Japanese wheels? Ie SSR mk1/2/3s, Starsharks, Star formulas ect ect

I normally Buy off yahoo.jp and have them sent, but figured id buy some while im there and save spending money on the middle man.

4- Events

Is there any car related events on from Jan 23rd - Feb 25th? is so where can i find info on them?

If theres anything else people recommend doing feel free to share :)

And thats in advance for any help!

EDIT- also Ive been told knowing japanese isnt too essential as a lot of local know English? Is this correct? Im trying to learn as much as i can before we go anyway but jsut wondering if thats correct?

You wont need Japanese as plenty of signs ,maps etc in english and yes some people speak a little english.

a few basic friends in english help so bonus for you if your doing a bit of study.

The Ice Festival in Sapporo is nowhere as good as it used to be due to city budget constraints but for a first time view its still worth checking out.

My advice hit it late afternoon for a wander through, then go warm up with some food and go for another look once its dark as place is all lit up and looks pretty good.

Not sure if they run it anymore but they used to setup a smallish big air jump in Odori with Japanese pro riders going for spots in the Sapporo Big Air which is also worth checking out.

As for car related events in late Jan through Feb the Osaka Messe will be on just keep an eye on this link for dates http://www.automesse.jp/e/index.html

In my as good as Tokyo Auto Salon if not better.

If you're into drifting Ebisu Circuit in the f*kushima Prefecture have an online calendar which could be worth checking out as you get closer to the date.

Dude it has been 5 months since the OP posted and he only had 2 posts. So you bumped the thread right above a thread with virtually the same information request. Your thread dig equals Go to jail. Go directly to jail. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.
