I had a rock hit my window over the weekend on a shitty country road and now have a crack down the driver's side. Needless to say, I need a new windscreen. Insurance covers it thankfully.

My question (and the windscreen guy's) is, does the C34 Stagea share a common windscreen with anything else? Or is it an individual item? I am not fussed whether it is an Australian or Japanese glass, I just want my windscreen fixed. If anyone has a part number too, that would be great. In the rare chance you know of a spare windscreen at a wrecker, I am in the ACT.

Cheers,

Adam

I rang several places and alot will quote you 250 or whatever (as that is what their system says) but when you ask for verification they either cant get stock or discover the screen alone minus fitting costs them 400+

I ended up paying 560 for mine fitted a couple of years back

Others have gotten lucky however and found one cheap

Mine was done through insurance and fitted by Obrien. They listed 2 screens for the c34. One with a sunstrip and one without.

Their replacement one with a sunstrip has a greenish strip across t he top. Fit is perfect. They also fitted a second window seal that looks like a factory one. Total cost was $460.

I did have to wait for a few days as they had to get it from Sydney.

Cheers for the replies. The place here in Canberra that sub-contracts for the Shannons contractor ordered my window from Sydney, but it didn't turn up today when I arrived at the workshop. Not too happy but not much I can do. Hopefully it arrives Monday and I can get it fitted before going back to work on Tuesday.

I am taking a different way to work from now on. It may be longer than the bumpy road that I broke the windscreen on, but it is a lot smoother & part of it is brand new. I am looking forward to getting posted to somewhere next year where I do not have to drive on shit country roads whilst dodging wildlife.

The new windscreen arrived from Sydney today and took about 30 mins to fit. It has a blue sunstrip along the top. I did have what looked like an antenna on both sides of the old window, but I think it was for something in Japan and didn't worry about it. There were a Pioneer Carrozerria thing that had wires under the roof lining, I still don't really know what they are for.

My radio still works so it musn't effect that.

Anyway, I am happy having a nice new windscreen now. If you don't have glass coverage as part of your car insurance, I highly recommend you take it out.

    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG is has not responded to my emails so far after purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
