Heavy Duty Tie Rods For The Track

Recently bent one of my tie rods out on the track, so I am now looking at getting a set of heavy duty forged ones. Has anyone used these before and does using them create more problems with stress on the rack and tie rod ends in the event of a hard hit?

Basically - is it better to get stock ones or should I get the heavy duty type?

Go the heavy dutys if your buying new ones.

what brand of tie rod did you bend, and how did you bend it?

it was a stock one, bent it while drifting - spun and hit a ripple strip

In that case I'd put in another stock one. better to bend tie rods rather than have a stronger tie rod and bend a lower or upper control arm, or even the upright.

If it just bent in normal use that might be different.

Yeah I was worried about that, it's a pretty quick and cheap fix to replace with tie rods with stock ones when you look at it that way
