well a bit of shit luck, drove the car to uni for the first time since owning it, and it seems I may have splashed through a puddle of paint on the road...

the damage isn't bad at all, I've taken pics, and coincidentally the paint is blue aswell so it's not dead obvious...

I've also gotten 4 quotes from 2 smash repairs and 2 detailers, the smash repairs actually got most of it off whilst demonstrating to me what method they'd use 2 remove it so I'm 100% certain it can be removed, but they quoted me between 250 and $400 I guess it just comes down to howmuch they charge for labour as theres no equipment really neeeded except for a rag and some chemicals... the detailers said it can easily be removed but will just require some extra time, the car is in need of a good detail anyway so might get that all done at once...

took some pics if people want to see it for any reason I'll post them up. otherwise.. bump 2 the top.

car getting a full detail whilst having the splashed paint removed on monday costing me $400

also having gearbox + diff oil freshened up, theres nothing wrong with it, just checked the dipstick and it was halfway between L - H so I thought why not.. costing me oils + labour $300 roughly.

received fresh gearbox oil this morning, have to go back tommorrow to do the diff oil, redline shockproof lightweight in the box, heavyweight in the diff, got a guy from brisbane coming to look at the car this week. has already given me a very good cash offer if he is satisfied with his inspection it will be going interstate to a new home :)

sold on SAU pending payment, will be going to an interstate buyer by next week. :action-smiley-069:

will request to close the thread when received payment just incase it falls through. thanks guys for all the interest.

    • I'll tell her I put in a new air filter on it, which, it would have anyway with the ITB's In the end she isn't to fussed, she spends lots of money on hair, nails, make-up and all the other "required" beauty products that women use, plus I grease the wheels with shiny gifts and holidays wherever and whenever I can She once questioned my car spending "budget", but after itemising everything she spends on herself, and what I spend on her, and the fact that I don't care if she does or doesn't wear make-up and fancy pants perfume, or requires new outfits for every wedding, funeral or anything else she deems worthy, and I'm quite happy to go "real" camping, instead of staying in hotels or jaunts on cruise ships, she decided not to press the subject on how I spend funds, and has never asked "how much did that cost" again, so a win to me And how often can you say you really get a win with the fairer sex? She is a good woman, and in the big picture, I'm really lucky.....that she hasn't killed me yet
    • What will you do when the Minister of War and Finance says the intake noises are too loud?
    • Will the clear coat dissolve the ink tho?? I thought about clear vinyl tape too. Thinking what to do haha. The one I have now is cracked in 1 spot, otherwise mint. Plus the MINES one is much thicker plastic material so its not flimsy at all.
    • No. Go a different colour, and just trim it at an edge line. Even manufacturers do different panels different colours etc.
    • I see no real downsides to ITB's, apart from the initial cost of my drive in drive out lifestyle, the "upsides" is they sound cool and would add lots of smiles I am willing to pay to play for the extra smiles I've spent the morning googling and youtubing the BBR ITB's, a "little" extra power and throttle response, but alot more dort, and really, I'm only really in it for the dort Who knows, after all this money is spent I might even make 150kwatw....LOL
