Replaced Both Valve Cover Gaskets Today

just replaced both valve cover gaskets today. Bought them from main north nissan (have an account there for work). whole job took about 3 hours total. parts cost about $55 including a high temp silicone.

This was done to fix a slight oil leak drivers rear side which would drip onto the exhaust causing a horrible burning smell every so often. So far so good. No signs of further leaking and no oil found in the spark plug tubes.

Thanks cheap, how much u pay for valve covers?

The valve cover gaskets are around $25 each but you cant change the seal around the plug tube, only the rubber seal around the outside. Why did you use silicone though?

i read some where that its needed up the front section wher it has a sharp bend in it.

Ah, ok. It has some there as standard, as long as you didn't smear it everywhere. Its not something you want floating about in your oil if you can help it.
