Ive searched, and ive read the (many) how-to write ups for bleeding. Followed them both times, hasnt worked the way it should, but last year with a vaccum bleed it worked fine. This time it wont

Problem:

We follow the rules, unplugging the white plug in the drivers kick panel etc, crack a nipple and the pump doesnt start up. As stated, when we did it last year, we gave up and vaccum bled the system, and all was good as soon as i drove it. This time we have been left with an air pocket 2/3 of the way down inside the resevoir, and when vaccum bleeding is attempted, it takes the top section of fluid, but doesnt take the bottom bit or remove / move the air pocket. The other problem is the pump still doesnt want to work, it only works when being tested with a "power probe", and then its intermittent

4WD light remains on, fuse in. Both cabin fusebox fuse and engine bay fuse are fine. Definitely only runs in 2wd (wet trailer ramps proved this, spin aplently from the rear, no help from the front one bit

Only thing thats really changed from last time, is we've removed all the ABS crap, changed away from stock pedals to a floor mounted pedal box, and changed from stock ecu to Haltech on its own loom

Have we cut something out inadvertently without realising it? We had to separate and re-connect a couple of other ancillaries from the engine loom (wipers etc), but didnt come across anything else that stood out

Picking the communal brain here might highlight something we've missed
