Hi,

Sorry some confusion there, I didn't have the R33 and The RX at the same time, I sold the skyline to fund the RX.

I'm hoping for a nice sorted toy - but I need to establish myself first before I can even think about that, as I'm sure I'm going to have loads of other things I will need to sort.

I've always wanted and R34 though, along with a Supra - they are the only 2 jap cars I want that I have not owned yet, but I've been looking at R34's over there and they cost a fair whack. I do wonder though if I should just save for a LONG time and look at a new GTR - yet another I want to own, but damn, they are expensive there too....

haha, a shopping list before I even arrive!! I sure things used to be cheaper in Oz, when I first started modifying cars!! Most of my RX7 gear came from the states - turbo included.

This is also a ho topic - fist time I have ever started one of those!!

Time is dragging a little here now, I can't wait to get over!!!

Rx7 parts - racing beat the toy store for rotor heads

Steve millen help me on my rx 7 once before he was a big player, weird his son rhys was a small child back then Lol

or mazdatrix in signal hill ? Not sure if there around still

Oh Rx7 are shocking expensive here all models

compares to anywhere else if you go that route

i looked at a FD a few years ago and the price was in R34 GTR money range in the states 13 grand would buy one

Anyway post ho away

Who do we send the parts list too lol excess baggage in container form ( im sure a few mini parts wouldnt go astray either lol)

Hey Mulv,

Just follow these simple rules and you shouldn't have any issues.

1. Don't dump your car on its ass.

2. Don't run straight pipes.

3. Don't put a BOV on it.

4. Keep the car clean looking and body kits to the minimal ( For example A D1 spec R kit may draw more attention then optional stock body kits)

5. Don't run Baller 12inch Rims with a negative offset Running on a set of tires that are holding on for dear life and not expect to get pulled over.

6. Last but not least stay out of the Smithfield. :rofl2: lol had to add that one in

Its called stealth and for the majority of us its our way of life if you don't want to get defected and spend big $$$ to get your car back off it.

In saying that the risk is entirely up to you I have seen some pretty insane rigs getting around but i also know the pain of a getting a car off defect.

:thanks:

Jap cars are expensive if you buy one in OZ. but if you get one imported through IronChef I will be reasonably priced. If you've got the coin you may as well start the ball rolling sooner rather than later. As it can take a little while to get one over here from Japan and you'll want something to drive on the weekends.

Ok,

thanks for that I've dropped Ironchef a line as well about bringing the M3 over if it doesn't sell here, I'm sure it would fetch a better price on Oz if I decide to sell her incase she doesnt sell here

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
