No one really plays with the Auto's, plus my wife drives it more then I do.

I was thinking leaving the RB26 standard other then Exhaust, filter and a little boost.

Just trying to see what works, if the R33 GTST Auto box meets up, what brake upgrades I would have to do, new rotors/pads etc. Any other mods I would have to consider.

Easy conversion I guess its the same as the rb26 I'm putting into my 32gtst. All I had to do was chop the diff of the side of the sump, all the wiring just plugs in the only thing I have left to do is fabricate the ic and exhaust piping and bolt the engine back in tonight.

There's a few issues you'll need to address:

1. RB26DETT needs an RB26 ECU, and won't run properly with RB25 ECU, may even not run at all.

2. RB26 ECU are designed to be in a manual car, not auto, therefore:

3. RB25 Auto computer may not get proper signal from the RB26ECU, and

4. RB26ECU won't cut power at shift point, causing huge amount of shock that needs to be endured by the auto trans, which brings up the question

5. Is RB25 auto trans internal strong enough to handle the power and torque of a RB26DETT??

i was wondering pretty much the same especially with the rb25 auto. are you planning to modify the auto trans in any way as i dont think it will handle the extra torque and power of the rb26. It will have to be strangthened in one way or another if this plan ends up workin expecially if u plan to increase the power output slightly by exhaust, filters and upping the boost. Would love to hear more about this project nevertheless if it gets going. :aroused:

I was thinking of using a Wolf3D for a ECU, I'm pretty sure you can use the one for the GTST on a GTR or RB26 and that ECU can control the Auto, just have to make sure of it first.

If it does control the RB26 that would be great as I allready have one :D

Yeah good luck man.... I'd imagine it'll be quick... TT supra & TT 300ZX autos are REAL fast cars and in stock form they'll smoke any stock manual gts-t. Just make sure you strengthen that auto box as what craz0 said..... I believe the RB26TT auto would be devastating quick too!

you can get an rb 26 to run with an rb20 ecu seen it done

meggala

meggala, will running the rb26 with rb20 ecu gonna detune the engine power output (due to different fuel maps, etc)? r u talking about std rb20 ecu or a re-chipped one?
