Dimming Stereo Lights

I seem to not be able to make the stereo and gauge lights dim when the headlights switch on..

The bright lights are very distracting at night..

Does anyone know which wires on a 33 controls this

Have tried hooking them up to the clock light cause I know it dims but didnt work...

try the diy section dude. i think there is info in there on where to connect. i remember when i was trying to install my gauges but i cant remember which wire

By the way the red/purple wire is luminance/dimmer. You can find the same wire on the cigarette lighter. Also im allmost positive that is the same deck (the one removed in the guide) that you will find in a 98 nissan patrol.
