crap it more paperwork for me!

nah should be a great day, I'm going out on a limb and saying the weather should be good!

(as why would it rain on me)

plus there some fkn quick WTAC cars there.

So I'm in group 2 who else in mine?

crap it more paperwork for me!

I'm out, so only 17, you can relax a bit Martin.

I was crook last week and still not the best so pulled out.

Funny It's usually the car that does that!!

I wouldn't worry too much about what BOM says, they get their readings from the weather station located at Rhyll at the edge of the island on the other side...

I have my eye on Myweather2 and in the past it has been accurate 9/10 times. I don't know how they do it, considering they are not even based in the country..

Currently they are predicting 0.2mm from 1pm and 1.1mm from 4pm. (Crap all really)

Here's a breakdown of their predicted track condtions thus far;

Fingers crossed it get's even better.

Well looks like I wont be making it down. Car has been at chasers all week with what we think might be electrical problem. The car will just randomly stall and loose all power. The worst thing is we have driven it on the dyno and two times on the street with laptop plugged in to record data and diagnose exactly what it is and its not happening anymore  . When it does happen its a violent jolt to the car like you have just jabbed the brake really hard and either stall or regain power. So im going to be sensible and not come down. Any ideas to what it might be share your thoughts

Do you think Neil will refund me or can I sell my spot to someone?

Ant had a similar problem a while ago, the loom to his alarm I think it was was a tiny bit loose, he would go around a corner bam all power cut, then straighten upa nd all good again.

So mght ahve to do what he did, and get under the dash/bonnet and check every plug!

Yeah my problem was a loose connection between the elec supply and rest of the car due to the alram being spliced in. This would only happen on high G corners though - no brakes and no power is just what you want when flying around corners!

I assume that you have tried things like incorrectly setup atmo BOV's etc??

gents, how fuel should i bring for my stagea (std ecu & exhaust)??

i could chew 60L+ in the GTR, so 20L Jerry Can and about 1/2 full to begin with should be about right ??

Yes thank you I think you guys have hit the nail on the head! From about 3 weeks ago the car wouldnt always start first time. I would have to unlock/lock the car 3 or 4 times until the immobiliser would let it work. It started playing up stalling on me nearly two weeks ago and have only driven it for testing to try diagnose the problem. Makes sense because if it was mechanical it would play up all the time and not 'when it wants'

I havnt installed any bov or anything like that. All standard bov and turbos. Boost controller has been in the car for ages from the previous owner. It has to be something with the immobiliser

And yeah no brakes and no power around a corner No Thanks! Thats why im going to sit out until this is fixed 100%

    • Update: Tunehouse looked into the problem and identified a wiring issue between the camera unit and the connector. They managed to get it working , but did warn me at some point it will stop working again. From their perspective it is unserviceable and will need replacement. They did some research and found that the new replacement camera would be Approx $1400 supply only (their fitting cost would be $190) . They did provide the part number (28442-JL05B) and a quick google of the part number shows that these are rather expensive brand new (seemingly no longer in manufacture) for the places that still have them in stock, with the used option potentially presenting  the same issue down the track at some unknown point. They are happy for me to supply the part so that they can fit it. Decisions, decisions... I can definitely recommend Tunehouse (thankyou Vee37!). Cost for the diagnosis was as quoted  ($190) , car was ready on time and communication was top notch. Their workshop is super clean and modern, and there was plenty of car candy parked out the front on the day I went.   Would definitely go back.
    • to fix the voltage drop issue I swapped out the old 150amp alternator which turns out is a brand known for having issues and replaced it with the black 180amp alternator beside it
    • For anyone interested, the Way Back Machine has that Japanese website archived with pictures, etc: https://web.archive.org/web/20051023225805fw_/http://www.a31cefiro.com/air_con.htm "Simply swapping the wiring of the harness will not allow it to function properly. For the outdoor air sensor and sunlight sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN1-11 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. For the indoor air sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN2-3 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. The connector PIN numbers listed here are the genuine A31 PIN numbers. To avoid incorrect wiring, check with a tester before wiring. Also, disconnect the wiring in a location close to the sensor. The disconnected harness side wiring will not be used, so be sure to insulate it." Wish someone sold a conversion harness to just plug-and-play a Kouki 180sx digital climate control into C33/A31. I'm decent with wiring but feeling kinda lazy about taking this on. Edit: Did some more digging and found a helpful Minkara blog post about the conversion as well: https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/1831116/car/1360568/2284209/note.aspx "After installation is complete or the battery is replaced, you need to go into self-diagnosis mode and set the internal air recirculation. The way to do it is to "hold OFF with the key on for more than 5 seconds, set the number to 5, then press 卍→C." ↑↑↑It probably won't make sense unless you actually try it (・∀・)." Lol wtf
    • Maybe SAUNSW could see howany members would do a motorkhana day if Schofield's is still available for a reasonable price...
