but is the e85 from united and caltex actual e85?

i was reading on another forum that in winter its e70 and summer its e85 .. all depemds on weather and how long its been in the tank etc

but theres a fuel you can buy in a can vpw or something? thats 100% e85?

that ethanol display unit looks awesome i might get one when i go the upgrade

There is a whole thread about this in the FP section.

as said, 1000 people requesting e85 won't do squat. maybe if you were all in the one area and were going to all go to the one servo then maybe you could convince that servo to get e85, but to get them to put it in hundreds or thousands of servos to serve a handful of customers at each servo, the fuel would be stale before they had to order more.

you also have to remember that while a lot of new cars, such as the new commodores, will run on e85, the majority of owners are too scared to put it in their cars. a mate of mine just bought a new v8 commodore ute. i saw the e85 badge on the back and said something to him about it and he started going on about how he'd never put it in his car and how bad it is, etc. all the crap that the general public has heard through the rumour mills over the years.

long story short, this will have about as much effect as the emails that go around telling people not to buy fuel for a few days because it will send the fuel companies broke and make them lower their prices......

In regards to shell 100octane, would it be 1% due to the higher price in comparison to 98?

And what would the price of e85 be against these?

There is only 1 shell servo left in Penrith.

It's allllllll the way at the other end, so I don't frequent it.

The bps here are always over priced.

There are plenty of caltexs, prices are ok.

But now 7/11 have bought out Mobil, there are quite a few around.

I wonder what their take on e85 would be?

Is just like one servo in each suburb to supply it.

Doesn't have to be all of them.
