Just got home(stopped in to see the parents).

Was an awesome day.

Thank you to the organisers and volunteers who made this day possible.

Unfortunately, I won nothing.

First lap was ok, 2nd lap, blew off 1 of the bottom intercooler pipes, 3rd and 4th, blew of the top one.

On saying that though, with blowing the pipe off on the 4th round, approx 1/3 around the track, I had a comparative lap time to my first.

So i must have been getting better.

I'm just glad they were simple problems.

So, next on the mod list, some silicon joiners and the bottom 2 hard pipes.

Oh, and coil packs.

See you all at the next one.

You had to post that up didn't you!

Thanks all for a great day, it was good to finally get out and get a feel for the new setup. Still have to get used to it though me thinks.

And big thanks to Jenna for the friendly rivalry ;) you'll get me next time hahahaa

I need to grow a pair for the jump, I was backing off waaaaay to early.

Will definately go again to sutton, awesome place, soooooo much fun.

NOw if only Pete can do a lap without taking out 20 cones :)

i love this track :)

Cheers to the organisers, i have had a great time (as usual)

Heres when i tried to learn how to fly. note the wheel afterwards.....

Haha nice work man

Watching it from behind at the corner looked insane.

First ever SAU event and it was good to chill out in the Canberra sun and watch all of you guys thrash it around.

Can't wait to get my coilovers sorted and clutch so I can get out there as well.

Those little micras can go hard!

Also the chaser sounded and looked amazing

hey guys,

loving the pics and vids, keep em coming. I will be back in sydney after a little more poking around in Canberra tomorrow night and will upload all mine then. Nice to finally meet a few more forum peeps today and have a quick blast around the track.

Confirmed my love for track days as im an impatient bugger but it helps when everyones so easy going and chatty when you need to pass the time in between runs.

Was a little disappointed with my lap times but im happy to blame it on cold tyres, a big laggy turbo and basically anything other than poor driving!

Either way i had a great time and hope someone posts some shots up of me getting mega sideways on the way up the hill, i also wanted to be braver going over the jump but lost my bottle when i saw James car come in after some 'mad air' (i overheard this on the radio) with a few pieces missing and a few more cracks on the windscreen..

seeing the above video justifies my conservative approach. not sure where my time can be made up but launching is definitely a big issue as pointed out by Dave etc.

Thank god that wakefield etc doesnt care how fast you can get it off the line..

anyway, more pics. more stories and definitely more events like this please!

oh yeah how could i forget, collected one on my last run out..nice long crack in my front bar thanks to one of the most solid and unyeilding cones of death i have ever had the misfortune to come across..

What a prick tease that was!

Standing there watching skids and slides!!!

Bring on the next one :D.

LukeGTR. Have you checked your engine mounts lately? That might have something to do with your hose popping bizzo!

Good day, big thanks to those who volunteered their time on the day.

I conceed the title of greatest GTR/Driver combo to Duncan this round :)

Video of one of my slow runs with a little sideways action near the middle. It looked a lot worse in the car trying to keep it on thrack.

Just.... wow. What a f**king unreal track. I can't believe this unloved corner of NSW has been hiding such a gem for so long. Thanks to the club members who organised the day but most of all thanks to the volunteers who sat around the circuit and helped to make it run as smoothly as possible - you guys are legends. Much better than the jerks at the start line who changed my team name on Natsoft.

7th in the overglorified cressida on proper street tyres - invest in semis i think next time, chase that pesky Cass coupe down....

P.S. anyone who doesn't come next time is a raging homo

Hey mate, engine mounts were replaced with the rebuild in December.

It's down to the fact that I'm such a tight ass, I've got the original hose from the twin turbo pipe cut up to be the hard pipe joiner instead of getting silicon.

Also need new hose clamps.

Oh well, thematic the breaks.

At least it wasn't too serious.

Bah ha ha ha ha ha.

For everyone who hasn't seen Tats team name, get on the natsoft site and check it out.

2nded, if y'all don't come, expect to denounced to homo status unless you have a REALLY good excuse.

    • Right, its been a while for updating this car, but I made some small but important progress today. In the end I bought an Ecutek dongle from the Australian distributor Tunehouse (for local hardware support) but have gone with a remote tune from Racebox in the US (because they have done millions of these, and I could not find any tuner where I could access the tune anyway as they are all password locked). The App is reasonably easy to work with, but the PC software reminds me of Haltech's ECU Manager that you need to use with the Plat Pro ECUs, it is a nightmare.  Anyway, I sent the details over, got back a tune file and a request for data logs. I finally got a chance to access a private test track today as they want redline logs in 3rd and 4th, and have sent them back for the first round of reviews. The main difference in the tune is going from 1.0 (stock) to 1.3 bar (19psi), although I'm sure is a lot of other stuff in the background. Keeping in mind this is a dead stock car with 125,000klm, this is what the App's performance test claimed: Before After Interesting to note that both 400m tests had the same terminal speed (158klm/h) but different ETs. And no, the speed limiter seems to be higher than that at 186kl/h. Summary of the key logged parameters for the 3rd and 4th gear runs were: Those little turbos were certainly whizzing at 200,000rpm+.  Also I'm really not that excited about oil pressure 55psi at redline so I think I'll go thicker than 5w30 (nissan recommend 0w20....) and see if that improves it. Other than that (and the big boost spike....) everything looks good as a start to me.
    • Just one more post to show the final result and the original "janky" solution for a laugh. Everything feels really tight and no wobbling at all, very pleased 🙂
    • After drying a few days, time to put her back together
    • The hot exhaust light will come on not from just the cat being blocked, but it's just a temp sensor, and it's designed to warn you to not do things like park in long grass.   If you've been pushing the motor a bit, it can cause the light to come on.   Second if the cat is rattling, I'd suspect it's not blocked, but instead falling apart inside.   The easiest "fix" until you can get a cat put back in, is to unbolt your one, bash the rest of the insides out, and then bolt it back in.   For a daily driver/street car, I am in agreeance of put a cat in the car. If it were race car I wouldn't care if it were removed.
