7th in the overglorified cressida on proper street tyres - invest in semis i think next time, chase that pesky Cass coupe down....

Oh thems fightin' words! :P

I'll have to do something drastic... Like enter with only 1/4 tank of fuel!

was that from when you ran straight through up the top?

(i think that was you)

just noticed this, your asking about the cone strike? it was the 3rd set of cones, the gap had widened enough to roll straight through over the day and on the last run i didnt back off, saw the cone lying there and figured it wouldnt hurt too much if i risked nudging it.

i figured wrong.

heres another vid

alex hall in his NA Supra, very quick for an untuned car and first time driver, as in first time in any event like this!

Long shot but did anyone happen to get any footage of my red 33 (besides Fatz filming my failing launch)

I think I might invest in one of those in car telemetric thingys, bunsuns footage looks cool.

In Car from my last run, Super fun even in a "family wagon", apparently it was even mistaken for a van out on the track....

Also i couldn't workout how to embed with Vimeo, Any help with this??

Alex was a crack up on his first run

Came hammering up to my corner and locked up the brakes slid straight through haha

Very quick for a NA

Also goes to show driver skill pays a 99% part in your numbers

yeah gotta admit, the kid is quick.

He is spitting chips that my go pro failed to work on the run where he spun out, i cant even imagine where you would have room to do that on this course but he managed it. I can only imagine someone failed to hit the record button correctly re the go pro one but i got a few of my considerably less dramatic runs with it, will upload soon.

im still looking for the pics of vids of me getting sideways, someone was recording/snapping up on the hill as i came around with some decent angle on one of those faster runs. Please whoever that was, share me the pics!

My brother has the video of Alex spinning taking out all of the cones....was great.

guess im creating a you tube account then

nice, do it! we would all love to see it, especially Alex, seems the boy has no shame.

and yes, Youtube it.

Sites ok except for the fact it kills any music i try and add to my videos..copyright farken!

I was thinking on the way home last night about another place I have been too in Sydney that is similar to this and it just came too me.

Has anybody been to the H.A.R.T driver training centre on Mona Vale Rd at st Ives??

It has a little track down the back similar to sutton (but without the jump) if Sutton ever becomes a non option maybe the nsw execs could sus out if st Ives is a viable option????

I'll post up a pic later

Here is the other place I was talking about earlier, dosent look as technical as Sutton but still could be fun. Dont get me wrong Sutton was a tops day out, just though it might help get more of the Sydney folks involved.

I did try getting on there in the past and it was a no (cost vs what we get), but I'll try again soon. From what I've seen of it, it's nothing on Sutton, has WAY more trees on the side of the road and is shorter. Thanks though I will look into it again in the future, maybe as just a once off type thing :)

Yeah totally agree steveo no runoff at all, I came off in a work Hilux and ended up in the scrub lol.

Sutton would be first option every time. It is just another option if attendance becomes a major issue.

Did they ever give you a reason for not letting us on??

It is a Honda affiliated place so maybe cause we don't have vtec yo?

Well it's going back a long time and I cant remember 100%, but from memory it was along the lines of they didnt need the business and for the cost of us to hire and get insurance etc (basically all the expenses we would have to have in order to run the day to the level thats expected from SAUNSW) the price per driver entered was pretty high and it had a high amount of people to break even so basically it was too much risk for what looks to be a boring place in comparison to others available within a few hours drive :)

Thats not to say if it's doable now we wouldn't consider it. Hell, I'd like to give it a go once and I'm sure there's others in the same boat - even if it's pricey, just to say "yep done that".

    • Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.
    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
    • Some of them keep working fine. 9 out of 10 of them end up causing an absolute misery bleeding the system and get thrown on the workshop floor in a tantrum and never thought about again because they were never really needed and just added crap to the car that we could have done without. Same-same with HICAS, A-LSD, and various other stupidities that over eager 10x engineers thought we had to have.
