My thoughts are; even if its 300 per driver, that's still cheaper than losing my license.

And its another off the list.

Closer to home, so food and accomodation would be cheaper(for those who already reside in Sydney).

I'm really keen to try sutton, minus the witches hats.

Don't know if it would be doable or not....

I was saying the same thing on Saturday, how awesome to just have the "full" track.

Some of the speeds you'd get up to could make it nasty if you come off, especially after the straight.

Ok you can all forget H.A.R.T.

The staff were very friendly and helpful but the company has some rules which mean we cant go there.

Firstly it's ok on price depending on what you do, full track though (which is what we would do) is 50% more to rent excluding insurance etc than the total cost for Sutton inc insurance. Still, that could be worked around if the others weren't there; residents complaining so zero noise tolerance and the final few nails in the coffin? 80kmh max speed, no oversteer, zero marks on road surface, no timing of any kind allowed.

Yeah Sutton with no cones is possible, and I plan on doing it with a few built GTR mates on a private day - problem is, the speeds will be massive - just MASSIVE and there's not as much run off as you all know compared to a normal track. So as the club we cant run a day like that because if someone crashes (good chance of it) it's a huge headache and means the club cant go back, but a private day where it's a very small group (who pay a hefty fee for entry) where you all know each other it's another story.

I'd really love to get say 3 laps (even 2 would be a plus) in a row on a place like Sutton - if that was the case, some cones to limit speed in the straight and at the start of the big left hander would be fine by me.

yeah someone on the day suggested something like that, groups of 3 or 4 going off for a few hot laps so the tyres get a chance to warm up then sit out for an hour or two till its our turn again.

I would rather one good session than a whole bunch of little episodic ones, worth a trial run anyway..

pity about the issues at St Ives, would be awesome to have a track that close.

lol @ not oversteer..i would be sent home after the first corner :(

Good old residents complaining.... People want cars like ours of the street then whinge about the noise? Clowns! :P

Wish i had made Sutton, but i still dont have a car.... Its still in 'Coming Soon" mode unfortunately.... I REALLY hope you run Sutton next year!!!

I've done it before and as you say it is too dangerous, faster speeds then Wakefield, but with off camber hairpin corners, jumps and no run off area. I think the top of the hill was a bit fast this time around, the cones could have been placed 20m further up the hill for my likings, but i'm a woose.

20m further UP the hill.....don't you mean further DOWN the hill? It's already at the top of the crest so you don't have big speed for the jump - or do you mean the chicane just as you exit the canyon?

If this actually happens, pm me with payment details.

And too much speed on the straight comes down to the driver.

Take the first few laps easy, and work your way up.

slowing it down anyfurther would be ghay

and yes dave i have a love for hitting cones at speed

lol

+1

i was slow enough with the cones, adding more would take me all day.

    • Throwing my spoon to the soup here a bit.  When I installed a 044 back in 2012, along with the direct power mod, the car became very difficult to start. To a point I burned one starter motor as I was late for work and tried to get the thing going. With some tuning and careful use of gas pedal when cranking it became bearable. Trying to make this short as possible, but the 044 died after 2-3 years, after which I went with an AEM 320lph pump, which also died after about 4 years to my dismay. After that I went with a Nismo pump, and while trying diagnose an emissions problem, I noticed for the first time that my fuel pressure was 5bar/72psi on idle, and that removing the vacuum line did nothing. After monitoring the situation, and removing the direct power feed and going back to FPCM in attempts to remedy it, I noticed there was fuel in the pressure regulator vac line. Kept the FPCM, installed AEM external regu and the car became sooo much better in every way, including starting. And I had driven it like it was for 11 years.. Anyway, I agree these are likely two different problems, and the FP problem you just haven't noticed before. I do not know much about haltecs, but what first came to mind was the CAS, which probably is not there any more. So how is the wiring from haltec to gauge cluster? How is the battery voltage and alternator?
    • Your car was auto before? You have different diff ratio (auto vs manual i think? or n/a and turbo?)
    • +1 for getting a screen off alibaba, CarPlay/Android Auto is vastly better than whatever navigation cars had 10 years ago. I got an Android screen for my 2015 BMW, huge difference. Fully compatible with factory stuff including iDrive controls.
    • Yeah, my offer was more to show exactly how rough and ready the rig can be and still be useful. Youtube vids will definitely show cleaner setups. Same concept though.
    • I would guess the seal has gone down at the speedo drive and gearbox oil has crept up the drive cable sheath and fouled the speedo head.
