IMACUL8
:bs!:  haha. sorry dan. VL interiors are DATED. *does box man dance* Alex The 32 is Dated from all angles..... hhahahahha and 33 are like commodores now. So better buying a VL turbo - heaps cheaper insurance, the calais turbos are quite rare and the rb26 will chop the fark out of about 99% of gtst out there..... No brainer. GTRboy
god- how come u went to an accord from a r33? mark, i thought u were looking at maybe s13 or a gsr, ohwell, that s13 with the s15 is still for sale, and there are still a few gsr's but ure choice, speak to u l8as, on the net, and maybe go for a spin later? uneekwahn
hahaha I love the "r33s are like commodores" comments hahaha considering Holden Australia sell something like 50,000 commodores a year, and lets say you're working on the last 5 years, that'd be 250,000 commodores. I sincerely doubt there are even 50,000 R33s in Australia. So your comment is illogical. Please in future try to stick to reality, by making sensible comments with FACTUAL information. funkymonkey
with the exception of the GTR and the occasionally tastefully done up R33, I think what the post was referring to was the fact that R33 are as common an option as a commodore to your average high performance car buyer. Add to this fact that you see at least 12 R33's a day compared to maybe 1 R32 or R34 (that is if you're not on an SAU cruise in which case you see 50 or so). There's probably a fine line about exaggeration that was crossed in that post, but I think it's safe to say that other than the exceptions stated above, R33's are very quickly becoming the next VL or camry, in the eastern states at least. Thanks for clarifying Funky. Listen in all honesty, and I dont mean to stir the pot - BUT r33 are everywhere these days - and thats not to say there not good cars - its just to say that they have become very common. 2 or 3 years ago they were rare ( I can still remember when I had mine and we had cruz's - there was me, joe, troy, chris, adam, dan, ken, brett, allan and a hand full of others) and between our group 70% of skylines were represented in Perth. Thing is you dont see many NICE r33 these days - you see rough examples that are tastlessly done up. In all honestly I wont buy a car with a rb25 in it again, so from my experience I was suggesting a car which still weight less than a r33 (or about the same), has a far superior motor (rb26 conversion) , will cost less to insure, will have that rarer sleeper look and at the end of the day will hand the r33 its ass (99% of them anyway). Also with some suspension mods will handle just as well and will probably have better rear traction. So if ask me - i would say go the VL Calais with rb26. fane
trev... get an import mate, they have the whole image, a calias with a rb26 will only have the balls... everyone loves a skyline, from my experience chicks love the skylines, they have an image that calais's dont. IMACUL8
Chicks love the Skyline .. hahhahahaa if your buying a car cause the chicks dig it your a NOOB. ;-> You buy a car cause it excites you, because its enjoyable to drive, etc ..... The "it gets them wet factor" is a bonus, not a prerequist. fane
yer but its part of the package, thats what im saying Dan a rb26 calais doesnt have anywhere near the "wet" factor as a skyline you might pick up a couple of bogan chicks that will eventually say omg its not a v8 skyline, still has balls, still has class, still has "leg opener" factor and they sound great there are so many because they are good cars... all you have to do is make yours different to everyone elses and ppl love it... plus you have your own car with its own look Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/40062-what-should-i-get/page/2/#findComment-824172 Share on other sites
