Im competing in the dutch time attack championchip with my R32 GTR.

Lot to learn for me on this forum as i am the only one compeating

In time attack with an R32 gtr over here.

Yes thats zandvoort haha ;)

your right, its not the most easy car to drive on zandvoort, with the tight turns, hills, and few ''brake killing'' brake points.

normaly im round the 2 minute barier on street tyres (we have to run dot tires in the series).

curently im running Falken RT615 semi's in hard compound, with some softer tyres like R888 ill have to take an

extra 3 seconds, will try that later this year.

first event i'm attending will be superlap battle its 17 of june!

You have to go to assen to, its a nice track for skylines, much faster than zandvoort ;)

Was hoping to do Zandvoort in early August but have some other things coming up which means I can't be os until later that month. Zolder and Spa appear to be a good track for street cars with some grunt. :)

I see the car still has plates. How is Holland for registration of modified cars. The cost to register cars in Belgium is rather scary.

Its quite easy to get plates, they don't look at anything. Most difficult is to keep them, as you cant make more then 98db, but normaly its no problem.

Spa is the best track there is, together with "the ring" ofcoars!

What gearbox are you running? Fantastic looking 32!!

Not sure whether you were asking about improving lap times, but if you were :P for quicker lap times IMO ... (all relative to budget obviously)

Your engine looks the happiest bw 5500 to 8000 (I like to

400ps at 4500rpm newer turbos can do this) .... with a t78 there is definately time to be gained coming out of a slow corners 70km/h On the tyres you quoted ... I dare say ur loosing seconds off ur lap times as this will compound into the next turns.

What are ur tire options? The ones u quoted are at least a couple of

Seconds slower per lap compared to a Hankook z221 or yoko ao50

or even bridgestone re11s as these are all in the same class in oz...

I know i can get seconds quicker with other tires.

I bought those tires for half the normal price, just to try how they are, i will try the the avon zzr or maby the new federal fz201. Yokohama and other brands are difficult to get, and verry verry expensive. Only yoko's that are available are the ad08, but im not sure how good they are....

I need an extra 10kmph in the slow corners.

It would help me with the slow spooling turbo...

Time to import some track tires! Haha

Will be upgrading the turbo for next season to a holset or gtx series or something like that

Yoko AD08's are one of the best street tyres around if not, the best for basically a street "semi" legal tyre. You would definitely pick up some time using better tyres and more speed in the corners!

    • 49719 is the cooler loop. Right at the front, LHS of that diagram. Return line from rack (LP side) goes to cooler loop on RHS front of car, then back under engine and returns to bottom of tank. 49717M is feed from tank to pump. HP line out of pump is thick rubber, followed by the hard line that runs down to crossmember and runs in parallel (but opposite flow direction) to the LP return line. Nothing goes anywhere near the firewall or interior of car. The closest they get to that is the connections on the rack.
    • Thanks, plan is to drain all fluid tomorrow and do smoke test to find out the leak.   Appreciate your help and want to understand how the system work. So cooling is achieved by the long loop not any rad? The diagram seems to suggest it connects to somewhere inside the cabin and I thought that is a cooler inside firewall. If you look at the diagram it seems to show it connects to something inside firewall. I tried chasing it but not easy unless I take loads off   i am confident pump is good as fluid goes in and it gets soft( steering) but as soon as I turn engine off , loads of bubble come to surface and overflow. When engine is on , fluid level is below minimum but when off it shoots off and thinking it is sucking air in. I suspect aluminium pipe may have a crack line or whole   smoke test with no fluid should be a good start and if needed will remove the pump   In addition, the one going under the engine bay is high pressure line and one directly connecting from pump to resorvoir is return/ low pressure?   finally I searched and suggestion is to use dexron 2 but that is discontinued so bought dexron 3 as all research suggest it is compatible and shouldn’t cause any issues/ blow seals. I bought two liter of dexron 3 motul atf
    • Don't worry about. Just don't try to drive hard enough to make boost and you'll be fine.
    • Yes. This has already been said. It is a loop of hardline in front of the radiator. Because.... the pump is on the LHS and the steering rack hydraulic connections are where they always are on a RHD steering rack....on the RHS. The high pressure line goes down under the engine, along the crossmember, like it does on all Skylines. Don't just throw expensive braided hoses/other kits at it. Work out what is wrong and fix that.
    • Still got the afm on the intake, clamps are shut tight, only loose hose is the one that goes from the j pipe towards the IACV, since it's next to impossible to find a factory hose and the barbs are different sizes (I'm still using clamps on this hose to try and help it seal on the iacv side) I've ordered parts to make up the hotside of the intercooler pipes, I'll plumb it in and see what happens in a few days I suppose The turbo's internally gated, can I just unscrew the tension rod to let the gate open?
