g'day all, i've decided to go ahead with converting a VL berlina wagon with my RB26DETT, the engine is out of an R32, has a fair bit of work done, makes 320awkw in the skyline and is currently running a power FC, for the purpose of installing the engine into the commodore wondering what the better option is, to go with a haltech, or make up a custom loom to use the power FC?

wondering what the better option is

Go with an ECU that's reasonably current spec, and something that your tuner is happy to work with.

Use the RB26 loom if possible, and use an ECU that's a plug-in. Link/Vipec, or Haltech are good options.

My choice would be pfc/NIStune for 98 fuel, or if you keen on e85/ felxi tunes then the other style of ecu ,

But like above, if you already have a tuner and you sticking with them, Use what they prefer as i think a better job will be done on what there used to rather then what you prefer,

If its running 320 with the powerfc, install as is with the powerfc.

Unless you're trying to achieve something different, don't bother changing the current control unit. It's a custom job whatever you choose.

Side note; if you Honestly had to ask this, you should be paying someone to do it for you as you don't know the basics of engine management.
