Well I finally got my 97 gts-t on the road, I waited about 4 months for the import process, man the waiting sucked ass. The car is almost spotless inside and out, very good condition. I am one hundred percent happy with my purchase.

one annoying this is that I got pulled over and breathalysed (I was in my datsun sunny not the skyline) and blew .049 that was re calculated to .042 which would be fine If I wasn’t on my P plates (I am 23 have only recently got my licence and have been driving for 9 months) I am waiting for my court summons and will no doubt lose my licence for three months. soooooo gay :D do you have to redo your full licence like redo your L's and log books and all that? I bloody well hope not, it better just be the actual driving test. Another 2 years on P's is a total pain, they really go hard on this sort of thing.

On a good note my insurance is only $1600 which is like half of what some friends pay for a car worth less and with fewer cylinders. But who knows what it will go up to when i report my DD after I’ve been to court.

I havnt taken any pics of it here in WA yet but here is the pic of it in jap.

WTF is the point of this thread? You lost you lisence, yes you'll have to redo everything cause you're on your P's - bad luck! Serves you right for drink driving.

On the other hand - nice car - it sucks you wont be driving it for a while.

Well the point of the thread is to inform people that may be interested in importing that you can get good clean cars and you can get a good price on insurance.

And perhaps also to say don’t drink and drive. You will loose your freaken licence.

I dont actually lose my licence until i go to court so I get to drive around for a while.. :D

Is it bad for your car if you hit your rev limiter in first gear a few times?

Where are how did you get insurance for $1600 at 23 living in Claremont and only having your licence 9 months?? I'm 24, 55% ncb and i live in Mt Claremont and my insurance on a 95 GTS-T is $2400 how did you score that?

You've gotta feel for the guy. He would have only had one or two drinks to have blown that. It's under 0.05 ffs.

when I'm old and on P's again, I'll remember to only have one lemonade wih a dash of gold.

DD is IMHO the worse thing you can do. You are 23 so you should know far better.

Hope the judge gives you 12mnths.

Even one drink is wrong, if you can afford a skyline, then im sure you can afford a taxi...

the truth is I was not drunk in the slightest, but yes I broke the written law and I have learned my lesson.

and the guy who asked about the price of my insurance... thats just how much it was I didnt do anything special.

i know the feeling, i was pulled over one night (on my p's) after i had been drinking earlier on in the night and had been on water for quite a while, i was very very sober!!! but the cops followed me down the road, turn their lights on and pulled me over. it was my first ever breathalyser and i kept stufing it up, the cop got really agro with me, i was doing exactly what he told me to do but i didn't work... then i decided i would do it my own way and it worked... i was like .003 under the p plater limit.... soooooo lucky!!!

      Hi there, after a quick google search I found this topic as I am also relocating the battery to the boot of my 1998 GTT. I was just wondering how you got on with installing the re-routing and specifically the installing of the harness protectors? How do they attach? Are they just a simple "click-in" affair, or do they attach with bolts? Does the GTT have all the necessary fixing holes for them, for example, where they locate on the chassis? Any help you can provide would greatly appreciated.

      Thanks mate, yeah I've heard that alot and i am definitely regretting using the 25 Loom now, i have gone through and traced all the plugs from the 20loom and re wired them into the 25 loom, I have currently got Crank, Fuel and accessory's working, just need to finalise the loom and run the wire for the Ignition (Spark) and it should be running, will update if i have any luck.

      Stock less likely to carry one like that than urethane, but still can, especially if the bolts are not as tight as they should be. If it's making that much noise you should be able to use a hose as a stethoscope> stick one end in your ear, crouch down and wave it around the various possible noise makers and get someone to lift the front end at the guard lip.

      Broken actuator rod. Could be one of a couple of them broken. Or, it's locked and the central locking actuator is broken/stuck or the actuator rods between it, the lock and the key barrel are jammed or broken similarly. You'll probably need a locksmith/mechanic who is experienced with using slim tools to reach down next to the window glass to manipulate the mechanism. That's assuming that it is not so severely jammed/broken that nothing useful will move.
