Decrease Gear Stick Diameter.. Any Help?

Hi fellow SAU users,

Quite some time ago I cut my gear stick shorter, however the lower I cut it the thicker the stick became and now no gear knobs fit...

Does anyone have any good tips on how to thin the diameter of my gear stick and re-thread it?

Or is it a lost cause and I should invest in a new one?

Make a bigger hole in your gear knob and glue it on.

Take it out of the car and turn down to required size on a bench grinder

Give it to a machinist to stick in a lathe and turn the dia. down; cut new thread, you're done.

Either that, or buy an aftermarket knob that attaches with 3 grub screws around the base, fit the appropriate sleeve to the I.D. and away you go.
